We're currently running XenForo 2.3, the latest supported version. The forum works fine, so I’m not sure what issue you’re referring to.
XenForo doesn’t include a built-in video player. There are add-ons to allow members to upload and play videos, we don’t use them or have the setup to stream videos locally. And that’s intentional.
Why? Hosting and streaming videos require massive storage and bandwidth. Embedding videos from platforms like YouTube is the industry standard and it's much more efficient.
