This seems frankly ludicrous...


Nobody knows how African gourds got to South America, maybe the monkeys brought them.

Nobody knows how South American sweet potatoes crossed the Pacific, blame that on monkeys also.

Turns out that there are no ancient South American sweet potatoes in Indonesia.

And believe it or not, gourds actually float.

A natural raft, that's something I never heard of. I suppose super dense jungles could have blocks of vegetation and land break off, somehow. If it gets to the ocean and float, that can work. I'm wondering how big it would have to be.

Imagine the odds of that happening, let alone riding it for 900 miles to some place!

There exists no organic sample of any ancient sweet potato in the South Pacific.

I was going to say the Bering Land Bridge Theory but its been shown that migratory patterns came from all different directions...
