Stephen Hawking held a party for time-travellers

The way I see it, Hawking hasn't revolutionized our way of life, not even a little. Why would he be remembered by anyone other than close friends & family? Some historical characters did things that affect us to this day, like Thomas Edison, Henry Ford, Isaac Newton, etc. All Hawking does is write books about black holes.
 
I have to partially agree with you. Right now he's well known for his stuff on black holes.

Some day though, his ideas will potentially be invalidated in favor of more advanced and evolved ones. When nothing of his ideas and theories remain, he will be forgotten after a while.

Because time travelers wouldn't see that coming. Absence of evidence is not evidence of absence.
