I put this in psychic ability because I believe Tarot cards involve psychic phenomena. I will explain.
It initially sounds silly to assume that cards are going to predict your future, but here is how I personally use them. (And by use them, I mean once in a while. I feel that overuse decreases their effectiveness). I will meditate briefly -- just a few minutes to clear my mind. I bring a Christian aspect into them and ask Jesus, Mary, and spirit guides to answer my questions through the cards. When I choose cards, I close my eyes and wait for a tingle. Yes, I get a tingly in my joints with certain cards.
The problem with tarot cards is that they can be interpreted many ways. The results can be biased based on what you want the outcome to be. That's why I like to use an antique deck that has a one or two sentence interpretation directly on the card. It's more cut and dry.
I believe that deck predicted my cancer. Using 4 cards, it told me specifically that I will have ill health but the outcome will be good with some financial worry. That's exactly what happened. On a spooky note, I really hope I didn't cause it to happen by using these cards, but that isn't very logical. They're just cards, right?
I've been warned when asking about people, too. It was right every time. Too bad I didn't listen to them.
The cards with more elaborate explanations I find to be less helpful because you can put whatever meaning you want to into them. Too broad of an explanation makes it to vague and too open to be accurate.
I don't often follow any patterns or rules when using them. I feel it is very personal and they should be used whatever way is effective for you.
