American Congress wants to pass the Build Back Better bill that will tax farmers $2600 per cow, $6500 per dairy cown, and $500 per pig.

You can read about it here:

Let's brainstorm the devastation this will cause, without thinking of political parties are getting too personal. Think logically about what this is going to do to our country.

I will start.

I live in an agricultural zone. Many of my distant neighbors are ranchers. They sell cows for a living. We have a Greenbelt law and taxes are lower here if you own livestock. This cow tax is more than their cows are worth. They will go out of business. No job. Just kaput. Ranchers won't be able to sell the cows, so I guess they would become food. Then, they have to shut down and somehow find work.

FOOD PRICES WILL BECOME UNAFFORDABLE. Are you aware of how many products contain milk? Half of what you see on the grocery store shelf is made of milk.

What about baby formula?

The economy will crash.

Restaurants may shut down.

Hoarding and price hikes may even start very soon as a result of this bill, even though it isn't yet signed.

Is this the beginning of socialism?

Saying that they will "get rid of" fossil fuels is nothing but insanity. They may as well say they want to get rid of steel production, and build cities out of woven grass instead.

Getting rid of fusil fuel isn't something that happens overnight. It's a global project you plan and roll out for decades.

It's something you plan carefully, not something you start someday by taxing this or that group of people to insensitive them to switch... Doesn't work that way.

Elon Musk talked about it a few years back. The interviewer asked him if he wanted fossil fuel gone. He said NO! They were baffled by his answer. He continued to say that we need fossil fuels right now. But we can work towards not needing them anymore in 10, 20, 30 years. That's something you work on, long term. Not something you expect to fix overnight.

Exactly. Any type of change needs to happen slowly, not abruptly, unless they plan on 100% government takeover. Total dictatorship.

Incidentally, since countries trade and countries like copying each other, this bill would affect the world, not just USA.
