Love this game, it's so good. That's right, it features baby Mario.

Do they ever say where those babies come from? I remember the ending and won't spoil it, but I can't remember where they come from.

lol no they never say where they came from.
the original mario brothers arcade game according to miyamoto
was two plumbers taking out monsters coming out of the sewers of new york
so that's where the idea they came from new york came from,
then the super show kinda decided they came from Brooklyn,
the game Mario's Time Machine Mario states he's from Brooklyn in one part,
the newest mario movie reiterated that they came from Brooklyn (which Miyamoto actually had a big hand in),
Mario Oddyssy features an alternate version of New York City as its hub world "New Donk City" which is probly just New York City
but in an alternate reality named after Donkey Kong.
It's up to the fans where the heck they actually come from really at this point.
I say they're from Brooklyn but that they had a weird paranormal experience as babies
involving Yoshies and then were eventually either brought to our world or fell down
a pipe, something like that.
