Yes I like the rock version.

But the composer (Copland) was a nasty piece of work. His specialty was "artistic condescension", deliberately blatantly writing far below his ability, you know, for the sake of the limited aptitudes of "the common man". It's all "talk slow, no big words" music. It's all "charitable", and at base none too subtle sneering. "Look! Shiny toy?" like someone playing with a cat.

"I Love All You Worthless Idiots"
"Dumb But Happy, You Wonderful Dirty Hicks"
