I am thinking more; why did the awesome wig wearing end? Anyhow guessing just it evolved into what we have now which is mainly crap though occasionally something good.

while I love Beethoven and Chopin and some others like Mozart,
my favorite music is probly 80's and 70's rock and pop
like Heart, ABBA, Yes, Aha, rolling stones among others.
