Guys, i see that the location is written in numbers that I don't understand in Stephen Hawkings Invitation. How can I find out what the earths location was in December 2015? C

The numbers refer to the Longitude and Latitude coordinates for any location on the earth. A hand held GPS device could also tell you these numbers too.

If a major disaster takes place on Earth and brings us back to the stone age, we're not going to be able to retrieve the message if it's in orbit.

That being said, the best place to keep a message safe for a very, very long time would be in space or on the moon. The moon would be a great place, even more secure than on an artificial satellite. Artificial satellites aren't safe from mechanical malfunction and will eventually fail, while the moon is there to stay and survive the ages.

I'm thinking about asking poeple from the future to travel back in time and warn me about something. It will be cool if they actually show up with their time machine but I think if they manage to change my past I won't remeber anything about them or about this forum.
