Amazingly, nobody was injured in the destruction, which happened in a matter of minutes as strong winds pushed huge amounts of built-up ice off Lake Dauphin.</p><p>Homeowners "heard it before they saw it (the ice) coming up their decks," a local official tells the <a href="http://www.winnipegfreepress.com/local/Ice-destroys-several-homes-along-Da-207043001.html" target="_blank"><em>Winnipeg Free Press</em></a>. "Then it came right in their front windows. It was just a matter of minutes. Fortunately, no one was hurt. We were very lucky."
