Hey everyone,

I've been hooked on Warframe lately. It's a massive, free-to-play game from 2013 with constant updates and no pay-to-win mechanics. I can't believe I waited so long to try it.

From what I've heard, it's pretty similar to The First Descendant. I think @BlastTyrant is playing it, maybe he can confirm.

The loot system is satisfying and natural, unlike the tight inventory management of games like Path of Exile or Diablo. And the grind is actually fun, not annoying. There's no FOMO, no seasonal pressure. You can take your time and enjoy the ride.

And the best part? Bite-sized missions. You can jump in for a quick session, make satisfying progress, and then leave without feeling tied down. It's perfect for anyone who loves a massive game but doesn't want to commit to hours at a time.

If you like to play at your own pace, Warframe is a must. Let me know your username when you're in. Mine is Num7normalis!

See ya!

Ahhh good ol Warframe! I am a Warframe vet lol i own dozens of Frames including their Primes along with prime weapons. Me and my brother use to play it constantly!

But yes The First Descendant and Warframe are very very similar, the MODS and Ultimate Descendants are basically the same thing, but TFD takes a good bit if inspiration from Destiny 2 as well!

I sadly burnt my self out on Warframe lol and it hasn't really released anything to bring me back, although 1999 looks interesting and they have a new game coming out soon called Soulframe that looks really good!

Looter-Shooters are currently my favorite genre of game, i like the rpg and character building aspects with the action of a shooter, if you want a good casual one Wayfinder isnt too bad! The Division 2 is a good post apocalyptic style looter shooter as well.

The First Descendant is reaaaalllllly new so the content really isnt there yet, and the character grind is beyond tedious, you're talking running the same mission 30+ times! I got in early so it isnt too daunting and basically once i finish the season stuff i move onto a new game until next season lol

On Speaking of Path of Exile, POE2 is so freaking fun! lol it is hard but rewarding! Bunch of little things that need to be ironed out but is in open beta and in my opinion if you like the Diablo style games POE2 is a absolute must!!

Nice! How many hours do you have in Warframe? I'm curious. I'm only 52 hours in. I'm having a great time!

I wish I could play Destiny 2, but my potato PCs won't run it properly, I played a little bit in 720p, but it looked like shit! lol Though, the quests and missions felt confusing and tedious compared to Warframe. Maybe I'm just getting old. What do you think of Destiny 2?

It's too bad First Descendant doesn't run on my rigs either. I would have tried it. But what you said about its looting system kind of turns me off. I don't mind grinding when its reasonable and not stupid.

I saw videos of Division 2. How does it compare to Warframe in terms of general scope, game systems, looting and gameplay?

On my ps4 i had over 200 hrs, on warframe, PC not as much but i recently transferred my progress to my PC so it all reset.

Just get a PS5 lol they're like 300-400 bucks now and basically a PC, destiny 2, warframe, TFD all of it is on ps5

I am a old Destiny 2 guy also, i played it since Forsaken so 2018? Not nearly as long as i played Warframe lol i really enjoyed D2 it is very solo player friendly but in order to get the best end game gear you HAVE to play with others it is almost forced to join a guild if you want end game gear as you'll never complete it with randoms.

All the end game stuff is forced group and guild if you want to complete and a good portion of the best gear is locked behind pvp which i dont like either, but the stories are really fun, The Final Shape the last expansion and basically end of the game was sooooooo freaking fun, but you gotta play through all the expansions to really get it. All in all it is really fun i played it religiously every day for years, if even to do basic daily stuff during seasons.

TFD is very grind heavy but they're slowly fixing it, but i like the character pool "Very rated R in some cases" but as it sits right now it is all bones with no meat, you can finish the season in a few weeks then you got 5 weeks to wait until the next lol or grind out characters and guns which becomes very very boring, i think it is 100% worth it but it def needs more content.

Division 2 is completely different than all of em lol Division 2 is basically a post apocalyptic shooter where you run as a special agent of The Division, you basically run and complete missions and collect gear, they have quarantine zones with zombies where you can get better gear but it is pvpve so you can run it but you will get hostiles in zombies and other players. But other than that it is more of a classic Kill enemy loot drops collect and sell or use kind of game. The gun fights are more Rainbow siege 6 style rather than COD and it isnt space based or fantasy. I really liked D2 but it was a game i ran out also, i beat it and at the end it is just grind quarantine zones for better gear and i hate forced pvp so thats basically where i stopped, but it has a ton of content and well worth it specially now if you can get the Gangs of new york expansion on sale for like 20 bucks!

Cyberpunk is also another insanely good game but you will need a ps5 or above to enjoy it lol

Thanks for all the info, man! I'll most likely stick with Warframe for now. I'm only at mastery level 5. At that pace, I'm pretty sure I'll have content for the next 20 years! LOL I love that there's zero FOMO, and most things, if not everything is pretty bite-sized.

Did you buy ALL of the D2 expansions? I heard it can get quite costly?

I did lol I would typically play out the free content before buying it and catch it on sale. It was roughly 20 bucks every couple months for seasons and then 60 per expansion, but each expansion bought you 4 seasons some times, so it pays for its self it you're a avid player, but even then it was only 60 bucks a year at first. Now, ya it can get expensive as i think it is still 60 until you get to Witch Queen then they go down, or snag em during sales randomly.

Ya Warframe can keep you insanely busy specially the character grind, but i honestly didnt mind it, and what i recommend is finding a frame you like, and just buying it. Like i bought Hydroid prime and i pretty much used him exclusively, he made it so i could get all my other primes lol he is probably my most used character by a good margin. But i looked at his kit and thought it was really cool and i was just starting so grinding him would of been a nightmare. I think it is only like 5 or 10 bucks? But it can really help with the overall progress of the game, you will still need good mods and guns and such but it gives you a bit of a head start.

I'll check the other frames out. I use Excalibur, and I have Nyx.

I'm still learning how the mastery levels work. I have several weapons at level 30. I leveled then sold an MK1 I had, because it was inferior to the normal one. Saved a weapon slot this way.

I'm searching if there's a way to see which weapons you leveled up to 30 then sold because they're bad. In order not to buy or craft them again.

Warframe? Yes, I agree, it’s a cool game, but only if you have time to squeeze in all the content. But there is one big minus, if you play for more than 300 hours, then you become too lazy to farm resources and do anything, because you have nothing to do, you just want to be with people and you pretend to be doing something. P.S 480 hours in it

My friend, yes, there is a way. I haven’t logged into Warframe for a long time, so I don’t remember exactly, but it seems like you can go to the terminal, which is located near the map where you select missions, open it and see what weapons and warframes you already have pumped it in.
