I'm not a "Titor believer", but I can try...
Titor said avian flu would be a problem. Ebola spreads similar to flu and shares some of the same symptoms. Not only that, but bats are supposedly carriers of ebola, and bats are similar to birds since they both fly. So what he said was avian flu, but what he really meant was ebola.
How's that?

That was bad. Titor did not say avian flu was a problem.
Titor DID say you should not kiss or have relations with anyone you don't really know.
Titor also said his world line suffered the Y2K problem while our worldline did not.
That leaves room for ALOT of divergence.

I can try for you. Perhaps it's mad cow in his universe but Ebola in ours.
Anyway, we don't know if it's really going to be a major outbreak here or not.

JOHN TITOR: Yes there were biological and chemical weapons used.
I live in Fort Worth, Texas. None of the protocols that should have been used to contain Ebola in Dallas with Thomas Duncan were followed. The family sent their child to school even after Mr. Duncan was diagnosed with Ebola. The CDC did nothing for several days to clean up the vomit outside of the apartment building, and nothing to decontaminate the apartment until after mainstream news channels reported it. The ambulance that Mr. Duncan rode in, vomited in, was not flagged or decontaminated until days after. Other patients were transported in the ambulance before it was decontaminated.
None of the passengers on the plane with Mr. Duncan were even notified by the CDC that they had been exposed to Ebola. The airlines contacted the people against the advice of the CDC.
Standard protocols for Ebola were ignored at every point and level.
A nurse who was fully dressed in protective attire and attended Mr. Duncan at the hospital has now contracted Ebola.
Several days after Mr. Duncan was diagnosed, his family was quarantined and moved to a secret location. Since then we have heard nothing about them. Since the family had direct contact with Mr. Duncan when he was symptomatic, which was also many days prior to the nurse being exposed, I would expect some or all of the family to contract Ebola. However, the CDC and Dallas Health officials have gone silent as to their condition.
Mr. Duncan arrived in US on 20th of September. On 24th he developed symptoms, on September 26th he sought care, on 28th was admitted to the hospital in Texas. On October 11th the nurse was diagnosed with Ebola.
Homeland Security said that many West Africans are crossing the US/Mexico border. It was reported that 5-6 black men from Liberia were discovered in Nicaragua headed to the US/Mexico border on their way to New York city. These men could have Ebola. (Watch the video below at 5:30 minutes.) It has also been reported by Border Patrol Agents that unmarked vehicles have been rounding up some groups of illegal aliens who entered the US at the Mexican border who were very ill with fever and other symptoms, and they were taken away to some unknown location.
The US has experimental labs in West Africa. Some experts have pointed out that Ebola outbreaks in the past were always traced back to some animal as the point of origin. However, this outbreak, experts say, began in multiple cities all at the same time. This leads experts to believe that this Ebola outbreak is biological warfare being used against people.
Never before has a patient infected with Ebola been deliberately brought to the US. It is against the law. However, this law has been ignored. In the past, patients infected with this type of dangerous disease would have been treated on a ship in order to prevent other Americans from being exposed, but that did not happen.
The US government refuses to stop flights from West Africa, even though other countries have done so. The US refuses to secure the borders, knowing full well that it puts Americans at risk. The government knows children and adults are bringing disease across our borders.
Another virus that is becoming an epidemic in the US is the Enterovirus D68 (EV-D68). It is infecting, paralyzing, and killing children across the US. This virus came from Central America. It is believed that the virus came with children crossing the Mexican border who were then moved to various locations across America. The spread of Ebola and EV-D68 viruses are spreading due to the negligence and refusal of the US government to contain them. IMO, that is biological warfare used against Americans. I believe this may be what John Titor was referring to.
If Ebola becomes an epidemic and/or pandemic in the US, it's very likely that Obama would declare Martial Law. If that happens, the US will enter into a civil war.
Time will reveal all things.

QUESTION: John, you say one of the hardest things to do in 2036 is find clean water. You also say you only trust food you've grown. Is any of this a result of your experiences with biological warfare?
JOHN TITOR: Yes and no. Yes, biological warfare and accidents do cause a great deal of problems but the lack of a working infrastructure also hinders the continuation of the food manufacturing you depend on now.

It is believed that the nurse in Texas contracted Ebola due to some sort of "accident" or "breach" in the handling of her protective gear. A nurse in Spain is also infected with Ebola for similar reasons. Is this what John was referring to, accidents spreading Ebola? I don't know, but it's certainly a possibility.

If Ebola turns into an epidemic and/or pandemic in America, and if one of these vaccines is successful, Russia may end up saving American lives.
If it turns out that this outbreak of Ebola was developed and/or administered by the U.S. government in Africa, then it would be considered a biological weapon. (The truth will eventually be discovered, even if it is years in the future.) If Ebola spreads throughout America, the U.S. government will be to blame for mishandling containment of the disease, for lying to the public about the dangers/risks, for standing down, for not discontinuing flights from West Africa, and for not securing our borders.
If this turns out to be the case and Russia creates a vaccine that saves Americans from an Ebola pandemic, then it is easy to see how Americans could become allies with Russia, and at the same time consider the U.S. government our enemy.

Let's take it a step further. Here's another scenario. John said that people would die in this order:

In this scenario, martial law would most likely be declared and civil war would break out. The government could even move citizens into concentration camps around the country, on the pretense of quarantines or over rioting. Those who protest or resist could be shot, killed from bullet wounds.
John said the World Nuclear War on his Worldline began with Russia striking Europe and the U.S.
JOHN TITOR: The attack on Europe is in response to a unified army that masses and moves East from Germany...
If sometime thereafter on our Worldline, Russia hit the Europe and the U.S. with nuclear weapons (most likely in response to NATO's new Rapid Response Force, which was formed in September 2014 specifically against Russia over Ukraine), Americans would then die from radiation from a nuclear war.
If this scenario took place, people would die in the order described by John:
Starvation (from infrastructure failure causing shortage of food supplies)
Disease (from Ebola)
Bullet Wounds (from rioting and civil unrest)
Radiation (from Nuclear War)
This scenario is only one of many possibilities. It may seem far fetched, but not if you look at world history. Truth is stranger than fiction.

Just FYI, the people on the plane with the guy heading to Texas were not at risk of contracting Ebola. (At least not from him) Ebola is not contagious during the incubation period, just when you start showing symptoms, and his symptoms din't start until after he entered the US. That still means there's a risk it'll spread, but it's far more managable.
If you're really worried about Ebola, just take a holiday in Madagascar or Greenland for a few months.
