Darkwolf saw pretty much the point I was trying to make. Not only can you buy anything you want, when you want, but you can also be the one selling it to those people that want to buy. The amount of different choices that are available in any Mall is staggering. Let's face it, the easier it is to buy something, the faster you are going to sell it. As far as "Useless" things go, that is up to the individual that is paying for it. One persons 'Useless' is another persons treasure.

You may have missed all the foods, entertainment and necessities clothes, home appliances and everything for the home. My main point was all this is centrally located in one spot. Is it anyones fault that other people cannot afford to buy what you buy? Do you feel guilty if you spend the money that you worked hard for any way you choose? Would you listen to a person if they told you that you were buying a Useless gelato? Your Lira is your choice.

The whole system is geared for the consumer. And as Darkwolf pointed out, there are vultures poised ready to feed off of the people who sell. The fact remains, you can get a job and spend your money any way you wish.

I noticed that you said nothing about worshiping the way you want here. Do you think folks in the opposition have a choice to follow what their heart believes or are they just forced to follow what the village does? We don't care what you belive in over here. Go worship ANYWAY you want. Do you feel that it is ok for a MAN to dictate to a woman about her own body? Do you feel that religion has a right to tell a woman that she has no choice about abortion? Do you think it is right for a church to make that decision for a woman? Well over here it is still a womans choice, but W has been working hard to change that.

My main point in all of this is the great amount of choices to make and spend your money, freedom to worship as you wish, freedom to decide the basics about your life that FAR EXCEED the choices that they have over there in the Mid. Eas.

Forget politics for the moment, lets quit pointing fingers about who is to blame, we have chewed that leather untill it is paper thin and clear as glass. Individuals freedom and the space to excercize those freedoms ANYWHERE on the earth is what's Important IMHO

You can shout pretty much anything you want here from your own front step. Or you may want to go see the sights so, you can walk around the financial heart of any city and pretty much shout anything you want, people there are not surprised to see that happen as it is common for some frustrated person that has gone over the edge, to go around shouting. As long as he is not endangering other people and himself, the police let him wander and shout to his hearts content. At least in my city they do. Things could be different else where. I am very sure that if freedom of speech is attacked by the powers, you may hear even more noise from our country.

We see many demonstrations on various topics here. The police are so helpful that they will help with traffic control to 'speed things up'. They are also there in case things get out of hand. What I have not seen are ANY individuals carrying signs or shouting "Osama was right" mostly, because we know that he was not right in any sense of the word.

Orchestrating, engineering or ploting murder of innocent people anywhere in the world is not right. Being associated with any type of terr. in any shape or form, in any compacity is wrong and just plain INSANE. There is no reason under the sun to go that route. Hopefully in a week we will have someone new in charge and my God have mercy for them who ever it is.

The whole world is very interested to see what happens here, just like we are.

I don't have Lira: I use Euro. You don't know much of what happens abroad, isn't it?
And yes, I feel guilty anytime I buy something stupid like all those things we like so much: cars, stereos, digital cameras, junk food, the tenth pair of shoes. I feel guilty any time I buy some simple clothes made in China by people gaining 1 dollar per day, while I am so crazy to pay ? 200 for something which doesn't worth the price. I feel guilty any time I "enjoy" that madness of Car Championship, where they spend for just one car the amount which can feed a whole african village for one year.
This business of "I earned money hardly so I deserve this" is just a trick. It's a trick to make us think that life is good if we buy something. That our hard work will be compensate with some useless garbage. Yes, we earn money hardly, and there's some people laughing at us all the day because we can't wait to give them our hard earned money.
A country can't be built on the value of money. This is not a value. Worst, it can't be built on the value of spending: this drive families into bankruptcy if they can't afford what the Joneses can.

About worship... well, I don't know the meaning of this word in english. Not time to check on the dictionary, it's very late here. But while it's hard for me to explain myself in your language, I was trying to say that it's not OUR business what other people want to do with their laws. Who are we to judge them? Well, we share the same values of course, so we don't like woman beating etc, but again it's not our business what they decide to do.
You're so ready to respect what people want to do with their money, but you don't do the same when it comes on their beliefs. Is money more respectful than beliefs? Very funny.

Well, then don't. Give to charity you are free to do so. The point is that need on one person's part does not create obligation on the part of another. Private property rights are a large part of what this country is founded on. Are we too meterialistic, Maybe so. Do families and people ruin themselves with debt to keep up with the Jonses? Yes, but that is their own fault for using what they had unwisely. Capatalism mimics nature in that the strong and smart prosper. Socialism lets weakness and dependancy spread to rot a socioty.

I am glad you brought up the point of beliefs. Most of the smart people here do not care what others believe. We are free to believe what ever we want. In fact, most of us believed that bush was doing good a few years ago. Now we have proof of otherwise. Now we can change our beliefs. Seeing is believing.

I believe that all terrorists have forfieted the right to life by taking other lives. I believe that countries that harbor and or allow terrorists to be trained in their country should expect surprises. I believe that it is none of my business what other countries do UNLESS my second belief is alerted. I believe that if ALL the countries united together to eradicate terrorists this would be a much better world.
I believe that all the nations of this world NEED to learn to live together in peace for us to survive the next 100 years. I also believe that being naive opens me up to attack from more sophisticated places.

But I also understand that life has nothing to do with my beliefs. If it does not put food on the table and pay the rent, it's not much of a priority is it?
