Hey Federation,

I run McAfee and it picked two Trojans in Spy sweeper.

1 - the first major Trojan is the file SVCHOST.exe McAfee list it as
"Generic Back Door"
2- Silly me, I forgot to log the event and only wrote down the first Trojan name
and description. Interesting that a sweeper program would have something
like that in it.

Not sure what version of McAfee you are using? I use PC-Cillin2004 and find no trojans.

McAfee Virusscan 7.1 It up dates every night. it's not free by any means.

I run Spyware BeGone and it's an excellent program with another free program called "footprints" that goes a little further erasing cookies, history, etc. I had to pay for it but it was well worth it. Earthlink has a free spyware program once you download their toolbar. It works great and it's free.

Not sure, Spy Sweeper has preformed perfect for me. Perhaps there is a virus problem, not spyware? Run a google search on the names.

McAfee knows the difference between a virus and a Back Door Trojan I would surmise. I was just letting you know there are two Trojans in there.

Well, PC-Cillin says there isnt one. Perhaps you have a virus present that isnt being picked up on scanners?

Spy Sweeper works, it was voted the #1 anti spyware program of 2004. However like all spyware it doesn't catch all spyware. I have been doing some research and apparently you can get the best results for fighting spyware by using 2-3 spyware programs in a combination method.
