It's written about in Dante's Inferno. Perhaps you could find a translated copy in English and read it. Perhaps take a look at copies of paintings by Hieronymus Bosch, who depicted Hell in many of his paintings. People who have been very evil would go to Hell, a place of incarceration. It is not the so called "Lake of Fire", which is something different.

You want to know more about past lives. Why are we blocked from knowing them? How do some people remember or know about them?

If we've lived many lives, but do not remember them, it has to do with the level of consciousness that we are at. The effluvia, from many lifetimes, lodged in our subconscious minds, usually blocks our memory. In yogic traditions, it is called samskaras, past life incidents, which contain recordings of trauma. It's trauma we have endured and trauma that we have caused others.

There are methods of releasing that trauma from the subconscious mind, which gradually brings back our awareness and memory of previous lifetimes. At the same time, our emotions rise to higher levels and we gradually move towards higher levels of consciousness. We become better people.

Some people do some kind of past life regression, sometimes through hypnotic techniques, sometimes through Scientology auditing and processing, which brings back remembrance of previous lifetimes. Scientology claims not to use hypnotism in its auditing and processing.

Sometimes young children remember their previous lifetime, in which they suffered a traumatic death, until they grow up and forget. A person at a high enough level of consciousness, who doesn't have the chaotic effluvia of previous lifetimes, blocking their memory, will easily remember previous lifetimes. I know individuals, at a higher level of consciousness, which enables them not only to remember their previous lifetimes, but also the previous lifetimes of others.

I am an unusual case. You can't go by me. I'm not an enlightened Guru, who remembers my previous lifetimes. I have one semi-awake dream or vision, which seemed to indicate how I died in my previous lifetime. I feel there wasn't too much trauma involved, because I was able to accept that death, without too much pain or negative emotion. In that dream, a young, well dressed man entered his office of work and was immediately shot through the throat by a coworker. After staring at his co-worker for several seconds, he turns to walk away and is finished off by a shotgun blast, from another coworker.

From what a psychic friend had told me of my previous lifetime and peculiar circumstances in my life, I concluded that's how I died in my previous lifetime, just before the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbour, in 1941. Apparently, as a British Secret Agent, I wouldn't support the vile agenda of Churchill and Roosevelt, to allow the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor, in order to get isolationist United States into WWII, as a British Ally. To me, allowing that attack seemed cowardly and evil and I don't think highly of Churchill or Roosevelt.

I believe I had just returned from informing a certain United States Naval Intelligence Officer, nicknamed "Flash", about what was going on, who had connections to British and American Intelligence, hoping there was something he could do from his side, to prevent the Japanese attack. Apparently, my fellow British agents knew what I was up to and were ready to ambush me by the time I returned to my office of work.

Though I may have been able to lash out and kill the agent who used a pistol at close range, to shoot me through the throat, before I dropped dead, the idea wouldn't have been very appealing, as I would have had friendly emotional ties, to my fellow agents. Nonetheless, it would have been very disappointing to me, that I couldn't help prevent the attack on Pearl Harbor. Then, on the other side of life, I would have been helping to secure and succour the individuals who died at Pearl Harbour, including the sailors in one of the U.S. ships, who spent hours or days dying in one of the sunken ships.

I have attained an awareness of the previous lifetimes of myself and others and karmic-reincarnational patterns associated with that, through intuition, synchronicity, things I've read, what I've been told, one brief dream or vision and a recognition of obvious karmic-reincarnational patterns. This is connected to the fact that I've known about reincarnation and past lifetimes for a long time, through many lifetimes. In this lifetime, I apparently did something unusual, to kick off my awareness of these things.

There's a certain book, The Iron Mistress, about an historical character who died at the battle of the Alamo on March 6, 1836. The book was published in 1952, the year I was born. I believe I caused my mother to have that book in her bookcase, before I was even born. Then, in 1970, when I was 18, I picked that particular book out of my mother's bookcase and read it. I had never read any of those books before. Yet, that particular book gave me the intuitive impression, that I was reading about my own past lifetime.

Over the years, that has extrapolated to an awareness of the karmic-reincarnational patterns of myself and others, through history and legend, including Biblical and even through science "fiction", which isn't always strictly fiction.

OK, but it might not be appropriate for me to tell you whether or not you were him, even if I did know. I imagine it's possible that you were him, though it would be a rarity, I believe, to be born on the same day that the previous lifetime passed away. I can't give you a percentage of the likelihood that you were him. It seems that you do have a strong connection to him, however that came about.

I admit that some of the lifetimes that I believe that I or someone else I knew, had lived, is also largely based on circumstantial evidence, as with your suspected past life. When such circumstantial evidence is overwhelming, then I believe it. One example of that for me, was knowing which Trojan warrior I had been, during the Trojan War and having a good idea who others I know, had been, in that conflict.

I seem to have a strong connection to the Romanov family myself, the ones who were murdered by the Bolsheviks, which may be of special interest to you. I live at the shore, between the bay and the ocean, in New Jersey. After the Russian Revolution, many Latvians and Russians settled in this area. My kindergarten and piano teacher, Miss Russack, was Russian. One of my friend's mother, Mitzi, was Russian.

At some point, attending a school, to raise consciousness, I became acquainted with a woman who had a Russian father and Ukrainian mother. As the Guru sometimes referred to her as a spoiled Russian princess, I began to wonder if she had been the oldest Romanov daughter, Olga. I had a brief, one night relationship with her and hug her when I see her. Other people's looks remind me of Czar Nicholas and Queen Victoria.

Several years ago, I went to Canada for several days, for my third Initiation into Babaji's Kriya Yoga, with Marshall Govindan. Afterwards, a young dark haired woman, asked for a ride to her brother's place in Vermont. On the long ride, we talked about past lifetimes. She told me that she had lived as the Czarena of that family, murdered by the Bolsheviks and insisted that Rasputin was a very good person.

A few years ago, I asked an odd friend of mine, who always dresses in black, if he might have lived as Rasputin in a previous lifetime. He denied that possibility, when I asked him. But recently, he told me that he believes that he had lived as Rasputin. Because of all this, I did some research and found out that my own mother, born in 1928, looked just like Maria, the third Romanov daughter, at the same age.

Also, I had seen and heard Elizabeth Claire Prophet, in person, who was a known reincarnation of Tatiana, the second Romanov daughter. She has appeared in some of my dreams, since she passed away in 2009. Yet I don't know who I was, or if I even lived in the time of the Romanovs. There isn't enough circumstantial evidence or intuitive awareness, to make it clear, yet.

I have one other odd incident, connected to the Latvians, that may be significant. An aunt of mine, who would be close to 120 years old, if she were still alive, had unusual abilities and awareness. She was walking by a bar, perhaps in the 1920s, with a baby in her arms. She had the urge to enter the bar and started cursing out a Latvian, in his own language, telling him he was going to hell. But my aunt only knew English.

You can probably find books and other data on these subjects. I believe that we have guides, including our Higher Selfs, to help us decide who to reincarnate as. Teachings I've heard indicate that it takes at least 30 years to reincarnate.

But I also understand that many of of us don't wait 30 years and reincarnate significantly sooner. For me, I believe it took less than 11 years to reincarnate, since my last lifetime.

Some of us don't want to wait that long to reincarnate. At the end of this Age, the Kali Yuga, as advanced souls, we can choose to reincarnate sooner, so we can learn as much as we can before the end of this Age, which is upon us.

I recall reading of a particular race or group, that believed that they would reincarnate quickly after death. You may be an example of that yourself, even though you may not have been part of that group, or had that belief.

If people have that belief, then it may be their particular way of doing things, natural and normal to them. More advanced souls can also sometimes live simultaneous lives, living two or more physical lifetimes.

Reasons that people would reincarnate more quickly or live simultaneous lives, whether one would be aware of living simultaneous lives or not, would be to learn lessons more quickly and to have a greater positive impact.

An example of someone who immediately reincarnated, is Stewart Swerdlow, who wrote about his experience in a book published by Preston Nichols and Peter Moon in Sky Books.

Peter Moon may still be living. He'd be about my age, 72. You might be able contact him to buy a copy of that book, once you find out the Title, which I don't remember.

Stewart Swerdlow wrote that he had been a Nazi Officer, during WWII, who was somehow included in the Philadelphia Experiment, August 12, 1943, with the U.S. Navy sailors.

Supposedly, the idea was to make the ship invisible to radar, which technology could be used in wartime. The U.S.Navy Cameron brothers were in charge of turning on and off the apparatus, that was supposed to make the U.S.S. Eldridge, invisible to radar.

There was chaos aboard ship, when the apparatus was turned on. Some men's bodies became partially merged in the metal of the ship. And some kind of electronic fire was affecting some of the men. Seeing this chaos, the Cameron brothers tried to turn off the apparatus, but were unable to do so.

The Cameron brothers jumped overboard together, intending to swim ashore and get help. It turned into a Time Travel experience instead. It was like they were falling down a deep elevator. Instead of landing in the ocean, they landed in the secretive military base in Montauk, precisely 40 years in the future parts of the Time Streams.

Many years ago, I heard Al Bielek, at one of the New Life Expos, at the New Yorker hotel. He claimed to have been one of those Cameron brothers and told his story.

In Stewart Swerdlow's case, he wrote that he jumped overboard, from the Eldridge, and also had a Time Travel experience, landing 20 years in the future, in 1963. Tall Sirian extraterrestrials took possession of him and put him in an electric chair.

The Sirians told him that Germany had lost the war, Hitler was gone, they would send him to a more appropriate location and electrocuted him.

Floating out of his physical body, an angel met him immediately and told him it was time to reincarnate and he became Stewart Swerdlow.

I imagine that all these events had been planned ahead of time, before the Nazi officer had been born.

The more advanced we are, the more choice we have in our reincarnations. I believe that before we are born, many of us have a choice of a number of people that we could reincarnate as and we have to decide. Perhaps you planned two consecutive lifetimes, ahead of time.

I've also heard the idea that a certain group had that after they died, they should start looking for a maternity hospital or wherever to find women going to have babies, so they could merge and soon be born again. It sounds kind of unsophisticated to me.

I'm aware that we frequently reincarnate amongst people known to us in previous lifetimes, whether those were friendly relationships or not.

We can even have family members, friends and acquaintances, who were our worst enemies in previous lifetimes. God and life often give us the chance to overcome our differences.

I knew a happily married couple, in Forked River, with children and grandchildren. But hundreds of years ago, she had been an Aztec or Incan priest, who sacrificed him, cutting his heart out. Apparently, she came to greatly regret this and was treating his heart much more lovingly in this lifetime. They and others were aware of all this.
