Can you 3D print a glass shape of some kind to test variations of it on light similar to prismic objects?

I haven't come across any mention of using a 3D printer to print objects made of glass. If one does exist I would like to read about it.

How do we get from a medium of silicon to the medium we call glass? All I know of is heat. Can 3D printers use a granular medium?

Silicon and glass are not the same thing. AI states glass objects can be made with 3D printers. But the answer it gave on how it is done looks incomplete. No one has done it yet.
