“CREARE L’UOMO FU DIVINO, MA CREARE IL TEMPO FU DIABOLICO” (Leale Martelli)
Reami del tempo… è risaputo che in ogni reame regna un sovrano, che può anche diventare un tiranno. Già nell’antica Grecia il tempo era identificato come tiranno. Si può essere divorati dal tempo oppure, come nel caso del Capitano Leale Martelli, solo imprigionati, chiusi in un reame spazio-temporale sotto le tirannie di un demone il cui regno si nasconde dentro uno “specchio”. L’uomo comune, dal canto suo, vorrebbe pure lui dominare il tempo imponendo ad esso orari, calendari, stagioni ed epoche diverse. Ma in quale epoca ci troviamo adesso? Questo non ha importanza, infatti, come spesso diceva il Capitano, “il presente non è mai epocale, ma è lo scorrere del tempo che lo rende tale”. Epoca ha fatto anche il prestigioso gruppo di artisti del Cenacolo della Valle Benedetta. Come già accennato nel precedente post, l’associazione di artisti ed amatori d’arte si è definitivamente sciolta. La villetta dove era insediato il Cenacolo è stata venduta a privati. Adesso fra quelle mura, dove un tempo regnava la genialità, ora persiste la banalità e la nostalgia di un’epoca perduta. Come giusto tributo a questa epoca voglio svelare un’altra vicenda che appartiene alla memoria del Cenacolo, che vede come protagonista il pittore Renato Natali. In un grigio pomeriggio d’inverno alla Valle Benedetta, Renato Natali, dopo aver pranzato al Cenacolo, in una sua rara, ma gradita partecipazione, stava rientrando a casa. Data la sua veneranda età veniva sempre accompagnato dal suo abituale amico autista. Mentre veniva fatto accomodare in auto, il suo autista si attardava nel salutare tutti i commensali. Renato rimasto solo per alcuni attimi, che a lui sembrarono interminabili, come se il tempo si fosse fermato, guardò dal finestrino e notò che, nonostante l’orario pomeridiano, fuori era totalmente buio. Alzando gli occhi per scrutare il cielo vide che era coperto da spesse nubi che parevano gravare come un pesante abbraccio su tutta la chiesa. Egli notò che pure l’ingresso della chiesa era scuro, al punto da confondersi con le mura, ma ad un tratto udì le campane suonare come fossero incandescenti. In quello stesso momento pure l’ingresso della chiesa divenne incandescente, di un rosso fuoco come fosse la porta dell’inferno. Da questa porta prese forma un’imponente e scura diabolica figura, che sembrava mutare forma come se sulla fronte spuntassero delle vere e proprie corna. L’imponente figura era seguita da alcuni esseri incappucciati. Questa visione spaventò molto Renato Natali che da quel momento non fece mai più ritorno alla Valle Benedetta, ma volle comunque lasciare testimonianza dipingendo un quadro di cui posto il link (https://pin.it/1q4Rj8wvm). Renato Natali non poteva certo sapere che quella diabolica figura non era altro che il Romitone, nella stessa forma sotto la quale apparve anche al religioso Bianco da L’ancolina al monastero della Sambuca e secoli dopo pure al Capitano Leale Martelli, all’interno dello specchio del Romitone. Ma chi erano gli incappucciati che seguivano il Romitone? Sappiamo ormai quanto il Romitone sia beffardo, infatti per mostrarsi al pittore aveva animato e fatto scendere da un dipinto i personaggi incappucciati che sono raffigurati nel grande quadro di Voltolino Fontani intitolato “La traslazione di Cristo”. Ma questa è un’altra epocale storia…

Given his venerable age, he was always accompanied by his regular chauffeur friend. As he was made to sit in the car, his driver lingered in greeting all the diners. Renato left alone for a few moments, which to him seemed interminable, as if time had stopped, looked out the window and noticed that, despite the afternoon hour, it was totally dark outside. Looking up to scan the sky, he saw that it was covered with thick clouds that seemed to weigh down the entire church like a heavy embrace. He noticed that the entrance to the church was also dark, to the point of blending in with the walls, but suddenly he heard the bells ringing as if they were glowing. At that same moment the entrance of the church also became incandescent, fiery red as if it were the gate of hell. From this door took shape an imposing dark devilish figure, which seemed to change shape as if real horns sprouted on its forehead. The imposing figure was followed by some hooded beings. This vision greatly frightened Renato Natali, who from that time never returned to the Valle Benedetta, but he still wanted to leave a testimony by painting a picture of which I post the link (https://pin.it/1q4Rj8wvm). Renato Natali certainly could not have known that this diabolical figure was none other than the Romitone, in the same form under which it also appeared to the religious Bianco da L'ancolina at the Sambuca monastery and centuries later also to Captain Leale Martelli, inside the Romitone mirror. But who were the hooded figures who followed the Romitone? We know by now how mocking the Romitone is, in fact to show himself to the painter he had animated and brought down from a painting the hooded characters who are depicted in Voltolino Fontani's great painting entitled "The Translation of Christ." Queste denigranti considerazioni non sfuggirono all’attenzione del Romitone, che volle trascinare il pittore Natali tra le sue spire temporali per ottenere da esso una vera transazione diabolica. Come già descritto in parte nel precedente post, il Romitone attese che Renato Natali rimanesse da solo in auto, autovettura che era stata posteggiata in precedenza proprio ai piedi della chiesa, davanti ad una fontana. Mentre Renato Natali osservava dal finestrino, il tempo per lui si fermò per poi trascorrere a ritroso in giorni, mesi. Stagioni di un tempo passato si ripresentarono agli occhi dell’artista, senza che lui se ne potesse rendere conto. Egli vide il sole divenire nube, la nube pioggia e la pioggia neve, che però cadeva solo sulla chiesa e sulla ripida salita che portava e porta ancora ad essa, senza ricoprire l’auto. La bianca nevicata rendeva il portone d’ingresso del chiostro della chiesa ancora più appariscente in maniera che il pittore potesse vedere più distintamente il Romitone e i suoi incappucciati. Tutta questa atmosfera creata aveva lo scopo ben preciso di suggestionare il pittore ed indurlo, una volta giunto a casa, a raffigurare una scena molto simile a quella dipinta da Voltolino Fontani ne “La Transazione di Cristo”, ove si vede Gesù circondato da incappucciati, una scena molto esoterica ed esplicita, gradita dal Romitone al punto da voler anch’esso essere raffigurato con gli stessi incappucciati. Per poter addirittura competere con Cristo nella stessa chiesa e far intendere sia al pellegrino che al profano, che gli incappucciati possono sorreggere e trasportare il Cristo, ma pur incedere nelle tenebre a fianco del Romitone. Non c’è bisogno invece di raggiungere le tenebre per vedere tutt’oggi cavalieri neri incappucciati incedere all’interno della chiesa, dal momento che, ancora una volta, l’eterna lotta tra il bene ed il male si consuma silente, ma spietata all’interno della chiesa della Valle Benedetta tra Cavalieri Bianchi e Cavalieri Neri. I primi hanno la fede, ma gli altri il potere del sapere. Al momento i Bianchi sembrano primeggiare, i loro candidi mantelli, come la neve, accarezzano il pavimento e le pareti della chiesa, consolidando la loro volontà di presidiarla e di comprenderne i segreti, ma questa è un’altra storia. Una storia che si fa sempre più ingarbugliata ed interessante, colma di colpi di scena visto che solo un Cavaliere Nero sarebbe in grado di istruire i Cavalieri Bianchi e svelargli questi segreti. Un Cavaliere Nero che potrebbe essere stato a suo tempo istruito dal Romitone.

All this atmosphere created had the very specific purpose of suggesting the painter and inducing him, once he arrived home, to depict a scene very similar to the one painted by Voltolino Fontani in "The Transaction of Christ," where Jesus is seen surrounded by hooded men, a very esoteric and explicit scene, liked by Romitone to the point that he too wanted to be depicted with the same hooded men. In order to even compete with Christ in the same church and make it clear to both the pilgrim and the layperson that the hooded men can support and carry Christ, but still walk in darkness alongside the Romitone. Instead, there is no need to reach into darkness to still see hooded black knights striding inside the church, since, once again, the eternal struggle between good and evil is being waged silently but ruthlessly inside the church of the Valle Benedetta between White Knights and Black Knights. The former have the faith, but the latter the power of knowledge. At the moment the Whites seem to excel, their snow-white cloaks caressing the floor and walls of the church, solidifying their will to garrison it and understand its secrets, but that is another story. A story that becomes increasingly tangled and interesting, filled with twists and turns since only a Black Knight would be able to instruct the White Knights and reveal these secrets to them. A Black Knight who may have been at one time instructed by the Romiton.

Dunque un Cavaliere nero sarebbe stato istruito dal Romitone? Un romitone da sempre avvezzo a questa pratica da lui usata anche in epoche remote, per ammaliare personaggi storici, come ad esempio Bianco da L’Ancolina, religioso che soggiornò nel monastero della Sambuca. Ormai è nota la vicenda che narra di come il Romitone apparve al religioso, ma le cronache del tempo descrissero tale incontro in versione limitata dalla censura ecclesiastica. In realtà l’incontro ebbe una più profonda interazione che adesso andrò a descrivere: il Romitone, già signore e padrone in quei luoghi, udì un religioso pregare e recitare versi ad alta voce, percuotendosi con il pugno destro il petto furiosamente. Questo religioso era Bianco da L’Ancolina, venuto al monastero della Sambuca per visionare un testo sacro che trattava esclusivamente l’argomento inferi, purgatorio et paradiso. Nonostante ciò il religioso non riusciva a trovare risposte logiche nelle pagine del quel libro, per questo nella frustrazione più totale, egli si percuoteva poiché si sentiva in colpa per il fatto di non credere a ciò che leggeva. Fu proprio in quel frangente che il Romitone si manifestò dicendo: ”smetti di leggere quel libro, non voglio tu possa ferirti il cuore e turbare la mente nel cercare risposte che non potrai mai trovare, ma che io ti potrei dare. Tu vuoi sapere cosa sia l’inferno, ebbene, dovresti cercare nel passato, qui nel presente troverai pure il purgatorio, ma sappi che solo nel futuro esiste un paradiso”. Fu così che Bianco da L’Ancolina decise di tornare al tempo di quando da bambino venne violentato, per cercare, stavolta, di sfuggire a quell’inferno, ma questa è un’altra storia… che sta aspettando il suo futuro. Allego foto del punto esatto dove avvenne tale dialogo.
Pure il Capitano Leale Martelli volle tornare nel passato e vide l’inferno, ma fu grazie a quel viaggio che egli trovò le risposte che da sempre andava cercando. Fu facile per il Capitano intuire che la spirale nella quale veniva trascinato non era altro che il cordone ombelicale del tempo. Questo “cordone” alimentava la sua mente e lo inondava di conoscenza sottoforma di musica. Questo sapere era talmente grande da renderlo consapevole che solo un’elevata tecnologia poteva competere con la magia ed era la fusione di queste due potenze a generare la fede destinata agli uomini. Al Capitano stava per essere svelato il segreto della Trinità, quando all’improvviso…
