China Developing Mind-Control Weapons for Psychological Warfare: Report

Story by Dave Malyon • 17h

China’s People’s Liberation Army (PLA) has been developing mind-control technology in its bid for military dominance.

Knewz.com has learned of this through a report by the research group CCP BioThreats Initiative (CCP BTI), which points out Chinese technologies that play a role in its psychological warfare efforts.

Analysts from CCP BTI suggest that China intends to develop a new form of weaponry that will provide them a potential ace in the hole while the opposition relies solely on firepower in a battlefield confrontation.

A recently published report by the initiative that studies the convergence of Artificial Intelligence (A.I.), biotechnology and neurobiology, among other things, notes:

“These technologies herald an era of effective, resilient, and cost-efficient solutions while also ushering in potential new threats. It's a double-edged sword: the advancements intended for life-saving medical measures could also be weaponized.”

Some of these new weapons are said to have the ability to impair alertness and cognitive functions in enemy troops, causing them to fall asleep.

The latter would be achieved through the use of electromagnetic energy and “soft-kill radio waves” that induce drowsiness.

To fend off the same tactic against its own troops, the Chinese army is suspected to have developed anti-sleep glasses to enhance alertness.

CCP BTI further states that the Chinese military has created devices that can directly link the brain with external technology and give them the ability to control an adversary's cognitive processes and functions.

This is not the first warning of China’s forays in the psychological sphere.

In 2019, U.S. Commerce Secretary Gina Raimondo expressed concern that the Chinese government could use psychological weaponry to maintain control over its citizens.

A press release by the U.S. Department of Commerce quoted her saying:

“The scientific pursuit of biotechnology and medical innovation can save lives. Unfortunately, the PRC is choosing to use these technologies to pursue control over its people and its repression of members of ethnic and religious minority groups. We cannot allow U.S. commodities, technologies, and software that support medical science and biotechnical innovation to be diverted toward uses contrary to U.S. national security.”

But Raimondo’s assessment, while by no stretch of the imagination incorrect, has fallen short of the mark as a report by Microsoft analysts suggests that China is not only researching these technologies for military use or applying them to its own population, but feeding it into American media.

The purpose of this effort is to create content that will go viral on social media platforms across the U.S. and other democratic countries and create racial, ideological and economic controversies that would ultimately influence citizens' decisions at the voting booth.
