What would you guess life would be like in the year 2036? If you were asked all these questions listed on the John Titor website, how would you answer them? I'm expecting few or no responses. Most of you are not the fan fiction type. You're looking for solid answers. Is John Titor for real? Are time travelers for real? Meh. This is a fun exercise.
I'm answering these questions from the perspective of someone who is 45 years old living in 2012. If I live that long, I'll be 69 in the year 2036.
What are your memories of 2036?
In 2036, I'm living in Tokyo, Japan. This is a world of 4 story apartments with very earthquake resilient metal frame housing prefabricated walls. All the roofs here are flat and fenced with gardens, farms, and game courts. Below on the 1st story level is a lot of shallow water. We walk on a maze of docks and bridges. We still have a nice train system but there are no cars. Books are rare and everyone can view any old media on the public and international archive. So would you please scan every old publication that you can to preserve history? No publishers are doing it. People enjoy their view of the water and wide screen poster televisions. Lots of people have sofa beds, sectional coffee tables and other space saving minimalist furniture to conserve space. They also workout at home. There is network television but it has been absorbed into Internet broadband. People are fond of making their own shows with green screens. Many of these home productions are just as good as any 2012 expensive Hollywood blockbuster. Virtual reality gaming is something like a treadmill that goes in all directions with a circular shower curtain screen. Hand held gaming is true 3d not illusionary 3d as in the Nintendo3DS in 2012. Robotics is somewhat of a hobby. Adults like playing with robotic dolls that double as smartphone devices. We also have home robots that just look like a bunch of sticks assembled together. Dish washing, clothes washing are all factory like automated processes in the home. You put the clothes or the dishes in the devices and they are put near by in the closet and cabinet for you. The only thing that still isn't automated is cooking, and child/adult care. People don't really work anymore, they research things and engineer things just for the sake of advancement. There is no money, everybody uses their smartphones to make purchases which are tracked. Nobody has tracking chips imbedded in them. We value privacy. The richer you are, the more privacy you get. There is an economic class system based on your ideas, talent and hard work. You can do nothing and get paid a standard living wage or you can be a health care professional or a teacher or have another job where human interaction is better than robotic. If you invent something or improve something, that puts you in one of the highest economic classes. We are all considered in the military and live according to a military socialist system. We're all medically and dentally covered. We all receive an excellent education based on a learning method yet to be discovered and used. There are no private things in the future. They are all public. Public academies, public factories. There is less pollution in 2036 because technology has become more efficient. Korea is working on a car battery that can charge in 1 minute. We use portable power generators everywhere. We can go to the deepest forests in the mountains and get air conditioning and a network connection. There is no comfort of home that is not portable in 2036. Not everything is covered with shallow water. Gnostic Christianity becomes very popular.
What do you think 2036 will be like?
