At some point down the road our leaders may push just a little too far, too fast and tip the scale and bring us into another civil war.

We are getting closer with every executive order that infringes on our God given rights as outlined in the Bill of Rights!

As a wise man once said, "Where the Hell were all these supposed patriots and lovers of liberty when we lost Habeas Corpus? Where were they when we started campaigns of mass murder in the name of democracy?When we became known for taking lives rather than saving them? We ARE the terrorists and need to be stopped!"

Our failing nation has done more to the world than good,therefore if our government turns on us,it will only be fitting. All it will take is some crazy overzealous "patriot" trying to organize an opposition or stage a one man coup.Then the more sensible of us will have our lives made more difficult and be treated to front row seats of what happens to dissidents who don't go along with the program.

You're right. During the Occupy protests, the government had a plan to assassinate the protest leaders with sniper rifles, even though the protests were (mostly) peaceful. I wasn't involved in the protests, but I watched them closely. What worse plans do they have for patriots who want to return to a constitutionalist republic?

Eric Snowden tried to warn us. Why do you think everyone jokes about the Orwellian Police State? NSA and other agencies are monitoring for dissidents(patriots are apart of this group) and those people might find themselves suddenly fired without explanation, tossed in jail to rot since Habeas Corpus is long gone, assets seized, credit ruined, and if none of that works maybe you vanish or get driven out of the country like Snowden. It is like the McCarthyism post WW2 except that in Neo-McCarthyism targets the Right Wing instead of the leftists.

What is it about Americans that they treat a centuries olds piece of paper like it is the Bible? The Bill of Rights you tout is obsolete for the simple reason it only grants "God Given Rights" to wealthy land owning European descendant men.What about other races or women? I was required to study US History in my Russian Primary School and always astounded how few Americans know or have competent understanding of their own history. Yours is a nation founded by and for wealthy Europeans and descendants, but has evolved into a sprawling multiculturalism and unreligious country, making the old Constitution irrelevant. It is time to evolve your political thoughts and draw up a new government that grants equal rights to ALL.

Change is what is occurring now and lots of traditionalist disagree with it. We probably will devolve into a full scale civil war some time in the next decade over it, but as you said the demographics of this country no longer match the Founding Father's visions.

Maybe the above statement needs a little adjustment and reinterpretation to better fit with the times since it was quoted nearly 250 years ago?

The argument that statements made hundreds of years ago are no longer accurate is fallacious. Regardless of wording, some facts are timeless, such as unalienable human rights. It's also true of things like mathematics. Calculus was created by Isaac Newton, but we still use it because it works. Similarly, the ideas in the constitution still work.

Okay, I won't discredit you, BUT I want proof of how these inalienable rights extend to peoples other than non European descent males, because when these things were stated and the constitution written women, Negros, or anyone else not White Heterosexual Male Protestant didn't have any voice. The original colonies grew through war and manifest destiny to include peoples of yellow, red, and brown skin as well as Catholics when lands were bought from the French and Spanish. As a Black female it seems the Constitution doesn't extend to me and many others feel this way also which is the main reason the Constitution and Bill of Rights is obsolete.

Unlike your idea of failure, we as a people have stayed the course thanks to the US Constitution.

Where as Russia has been adrift without a rudder and just go where the current and wind may take them!

Our country chanes with the wind. It is difficult to know where it's headed. Every few years puppetmasters change where exactly the US is supposed to be headed.
