@Arctor - You must remember though that Isaac Asimov was a socialist, and so he wrote about his speculated future in a socialist state of mind.
I don't agree with a lot of his solutions, but his comments about some of the potential dangers we might face in the future are logical. Asimov's New Guide to Science( http://www.amazon.com/Asimovs-Guide-Science-Isaac-Asimov/dp/0465004733) is one of the best overviews of science I have read, although a bit dated now. The main thing to remember is that we can dream up all kinds of potentially bad scenarios for the human race, but that doesn't mean they will happen. It is important to be able to objectively study the situations that do arise in the future and avoid exploiting theories for political gain.
