Hi Opmmur!
I only started sharing about my experiences with others when I found that some of my friends were open to the idea and even trying to it themselves but not succeeding. And now sharing on forums with like minded (open minded) folks.
My friends started saying I am 'gifted' and I had never thought of it that way! (More like I am a freak, LOL!) So that really changed my perspective on it. Your description now makes me understand the difference between Astral Travel and Astral Projection, I had thought of the terms as interchangeable but now I get it, thank you!
As a child I remember 'imagining' that my bed was floating in the air and I on it (or sometimes myself without the bed) and I would see how far I could travel on it, usually only made it down the hall of my house, not outside it. It used to feel really cool, but I dismissed it (as we are told to to as children) as 'imagination.' In the books I mentioned the author told of how many people had this same childhood memory and how children are able to Astral Project and Travel very easily (but are told they imagine it and are then discouraged from imagining) and they tend to do it in the same way (with their beds attached to them, maybe it's a more secure feeling that way?). What I have learned since it is that children, esp. prior to age 7 are always in the alpha state of mind (meditative) and have not developed beta mind yet (which is the analytical, linear thinking awake mind) and so they are very open and that's why also very easy for them to learn/absorb things and very impressionable in this way, which is good and bad this they are easily programmed (that's when we all get our programming from our families, religion, and society that takes us the rest of our lives trying to deprogram!
).
Anyway I totally believe your story, my experiences are a little different but from them I can understand what you mean by your description of your story.
Thanks!
