Are you a Quake Champion?

I played the Quake games for the first time recently. I know... I'm late to the party. I've always been a Doom guy.

So, the most active Quake game, right now, is Quake Champions:

There's usually a couple of streamers playing on Twitch:

Man, it's so fast-paced, it blows me away. It's pure arena shooter, 90s-style. That's not something we're used to anymore in 2024. FRAG!

These days, I simply play casual team deathmatches and I often get 100% wrecked. I think I'm not that bad. But against the hardcore Quake crowd, I'm an absolute noob. For a couple of games, I was the worst player! LOL.

We can play together if you want, simply let me know here. I'll add you as friends. :) We'll frag together!

Oh, and players even have a statistics page, which is pretty awesome. Here's mine, to give you an idea. I don't have any recent matches, because I don't play ranked.

See ya!

Used to play Quake 3 Arena on nightmare difficulty and make sub-conscious headshots (the opponent is dead before realizing that someone was there), but that was nothing compared to an online game where the majority consists of a few addicts doing nothing else than playing the same game over and over again.

Nice, I have yet to try Quake 3 Arena.

I think it's the main inspiration behind Quake Champions. It's supposedly, more or less the same gameplay, plus a couple of quality-of-life features. And upgraded graphics.

Never got in to that one, not sure why. Busy doing other crap or something at that point I guess.
UT and AvP online were my thing for fast paced mahem.

Never tried AvP, I'll look it up.

I wish there was a competitive UT scene. Or a UT scene at all. Mechanically, UT3 is my favorite, but it's a dead game. Not much MP... :(
