Robots could soon take our jobs away. Artificial intelligence technology is growing at a record pace. It is not just neural networks that are now being used in our sensors. Jobs such as truck driver could be gone soon. After all, we do know that self driving trucks will be safer and cost us less money. Expect this to have a ripple effect on our economy.

These robots and automation already exist. Not every company can afford them or make it more economical for them than employees. A lot of third world employees of major corporations doing outsourcing are borderline criminal operations. Poor people will always exist as it has been since the beginning of modern civilization. Jobs come and go as well, there are a LOT of jobs that "electricity" destroyed but also a lot if has invented and we're okay today. This is called evolution. Don't be scared of change... embrace it. It's inevitable anyways and it's the only universal constant.
 

People always make this complaint and it has no merits. Yes, jobs are lost to technological progress, that simply opens up new jobs in different fields, that's the other side of the coin you aren't looking at. The automobile destroyed the Pony Express. You are crying about all the lost jobs with the horses and the industry that went into supporting them. What you aren't looking at are the new jobs going into the automotive industry.

Back in the 1940's, 50's, 60's, America's economy was quite dependent on manufacturing. With the progress of technology, you decried the loss of manufacturing jobs. What you are choosing to ignore, are the thousands of new consulting positions that have opened up over the past several decades, in addition to all the IT positions required to support the new technologies.
 

Its good to know that President Trump is concentrating more on producing goods within the US, i believe in protectionism not Globalism!..
For example he wants US made Steel, Iron and Concrete, which obviously means more jobs for US people and more good news, since January this year, 300.000 more jobs have been created(y):)..

When products are made locally, it costs more. The reason outsourcing is so appealing to companies is because it is CHEAPER. Once you bring it back in-house you're going to raise the cost; because now the company supports employees to live in a first world nation rather than supporting a third world nation's citizens which means the cost is tenfold. That $1.75 a day I was paying Pedro is now $175 per day for Peter.

So it's great the USA will make more products in-house to support its own citizens but it will inevitably drive up the cost of those products.
 
If there aren't enough jobs, that's a good thing.

At the very dawn of civilisation and humanity, when we developed agriculture, that's when there was suddenly enough food that not everyone had to be working all the time. So, leaders and spiritual people emerged, people whose job it was to think. 23k years later and we're planning things like space elevators and we already have magnificent stuff like the internet.

However, at a point we stopped progressing and just decided that 1 or 2% of the population wouldn't have to work, and everyone else should work or starve. Although it wasn't decided by us ;) nor any secret global conspiracy. The names of the extremely unjustly rich people who never have to work a day in their life are public knowledge. Billionaires are stinky.

A society where you don't have to work to survive is a good society. A society where excess jobs are created /because/ people need a job to live, is inefficient.

AI and automation, when it reaches a certain point, will change our society, I think for the better. Capitalism can't survive when the most efficient and profitable method doesn't involve a vast pool of expendable workers.

Not to sound massively communist or anything lmao. But I don't really see capitalism surviving in a post-manpowered world. Unless every job becomes creative, in which case that's sort of scary because creative stuff shouldn't really be assigned a monetary value, especially if lives hang in the balance.

I'm surprised at many of the statements you made. I certainly hope you weren't taught any of this socialism you spout. Socialism is the most destructive form of government in existence. Where there is no freedom. There is not enough of anything to go around for everyone. No one has to work. And you don't have any possibility of escaping from this horrible type of existence.
