No one is literally counting. It's all maths and stats.

COVID probably didn't have a big influence overall, because of the scale. A lot of people died. But so many more were born in the mean time.
 
the population statistics dont tell you really how many people are missing and those who work off world in the secret government agendas i bet they aint counted and if they was it be to other people including dead people like in the elections to

Many more people died from bad air quality, but it could be much worse without a quick response and vaccines. In the middle ages, such disease waves ended when half of the population had died and they no longer lived too close.
