Yeah, I think I'll probably end up getting that and a Nintendo Revolution when it comes out. PS3 looks to be too expensive :( Nintendo has made it clear that they're focusing more on gameplay than graphics, so I hope they'll be making some TT games ;)

Anyone remember the classic "Day of the tenticle"? By Lucas Arts I think. You got to go back to the American war of independance, It was funny stuff.

There are several games I like which are not exactly time travel but involve history and changes through time. Any of the Civilisation games I love, or Empire Earth thats a cracker aswell.

Re: Time Travel Video Games

I'v seen StarCraft mentioned in this thread. We should all host a StarCraft match or something. I've been playing that game since 1998 and I still love it. I'm deadly with the protoss LOL.

I'm glad to see that there are more Zelda fans on here besides me. I'm glad you were thinking about Ocarina of Time as well Harte. When I first saw this thread that game immediately popped into my mind. Ocarina of Time has a very interesting twist on Time Travel. In fact it mixes magic with Time Travel. Technology doesn't have a place in it. Link enters the "Temple of Time" as a child, pulls the Master Sword from it's pedestal and wakes up seven years into the future. In the future timeline if you find a door you can't yet open, you just head back to the Temple of Time and put the sword back, only to find yourself back seven years in the past. Somehow in the past you open that door only to find it open for you back in the future. It's pretty cool. Whether you are a Time Travel fan or a Zelda fan, I strongly recommend anyone to play The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. I do consider it to be the greatest video game ever made.

You are correct about Zelda on Gameboy Advance Heggy. That would be the two Zelda Oracle of Season games. Link gets pulled through time by magical vortexes. Not as complex or interesting as Ocarina of Time, but it's still a lot of fun.

About the TT in star craft. I assume you are not familiar with the later Command and Conquer. One was entirely devoted to Time Travel. Red Alert.

The allies had a unit called the ChronoSphere which allowed you to send units to the past and have them reappear on the map in a area of your choosing basically immediate teleportation. The theory is in the past they would go to a spot where the enemy is yet to be and then return when the enemy arrived using knowledge from the future. The second unit is the Chrono Trooper who would materialize in this time and basically destroy a building by removing it from the timeline.

Eventually, the Allies storm the Kremlin and capture Romanov, although Yuri escapes (the Allied scenario's ending FMV shows the year of this game to be about 1976).

In Red Alert 2: Yuri's Revenge, after the war between the Allies and the Soviets, Romanov's Chief advisor, the psychic Yuri, breaks off from Russia and forms a renegade faction, much like CABAL in Tiberian Sun: Firestorm. Yuri successfully deploys his Psychic Dominators all over the world and sends a "warning message" to the President of the USA minutes before the activation of the devices, which would enslave the minds of every person in the world. After successfully destroying the Dominator on Alcatraz (leaving only a small fraction of the world out of Yuri's control), the Allied forces once again use the Chronosphere and send a small troop to the past and the very beginning of the Soviet invasion. With knowledge of the future, the Allied force must convince the USA and Russia to work together to stop Yuri from enslaving the world (as a bonus, General Carville is never assassinated).[/qoute]
