That's not true. I saw a video a few years ago of some guy using the HDR. I think his name was Carlos, but I'm not sure. It might have been posted on @HDRKID 's website.

What it didn't show was him traveling through time. I don't think any current Earth cameras will detect astral travel, though I could be wrong.
