Oops, Twitch is discontinuing the app I'm using to stream!

Last year, I chose Twitch Studio for its simplicity. Streaming was (and still is) a new thing for me, so using a simpler, more straightforward app made sense.

Now, with this announcement letting us know they'll no longer support Twitch Studio, I'm forced to move to OBS. It's probably for the best, it had to happen eventually. OBS is more complicated, but it's more versatile and powerful. It's the golden standard of streaming.

From what I've heard, OBS isn't bad. Be glad they're not forcing you to use raw ffmpeg commands.
 

Commercial services come and go, but if people build what they need with open source and open standards, you can keep it for a much longer time.
