The NASA Theologians Story Is Fake:

• Props to u/OffshoreAttorney on Reddit for this post for pointing out a Twitter thread by Caroline Orr Bueno that states that:

There’s a viral story claiming that “NASA hired 24 theologians” to help them understand how people will react if they discover alien life, but that didn’t really happen. In reality, the theologians took part in a NASA-funded project at the Center for Theological Inquiry.

• She then goes on to say:

So yes, it’s interesting that NASA is funding projects at the Center for Theological Inquiry, but they’ve been doing that for a while. Here’s a 2016 article describing some of that work:

• So yes it most probably is fake. It could be real but most likely isn't. she also notes that it probably isn't worth trusting the story based on the news sources which are providing the story and provide screen captures of the sources here. All of them are kind of tabloid sites, to be honest. So we'd better be on the lookout for more fake stories as UFO/UAP stuff goes more mainstream.
