Waco-type event

So this is interesting. When Titor talked about a Waco-type event, we only had one such incident as our frame of reference. Namely, the Waco siege in which 87 civilians, including women and children, were murdered by government agents using all sorts of military weapons and tactics (machine guns, flame throwers, tanks, etc).

Then this past Sunday, another event happened in Waco. This time, it was several armed motorcycle gangs shooting at each other, with cops shooting at them, too. Though the death toll is far lower at 9 victims, it's noteworthy that something like this happened in that particular town.

Titor talked about his time machine having 2% divergence, whatever that means. One of the biker gangs involved in the event refers to themselves as the 1%. This is probably coincidence, but it's interesting nonetheless.

So the question now becomes, which particular event was Titor referencing?

I guess if it happens in Waco, it can be classified as a Waco event. But hardly like the original event. In this Waco event the Police were doing what we pay them to do.

It is quite interesting, as you say John Titor never explained his interpretation of "waco type" event.

Why would he need to? At the time of his posting a Waco type event was well understood. Even today most people know what it refers to.

True. However at the time of posting he was also 3 yrs old. The Waco we recognise predates his life (well one of them :) )

The Waco of his world line is likely different than ours. 2 percent divergence is actually pretty huge. Two percent different actions of atoms and people's choices culminating ends up being pretty big.

Now here is a interesting parallel. We are seeing riots about one per month here in the United States. And it's getting worse.

Maybe John Titor Waco event was a riot due to a bad police action?

I certainly don't see a parallel. Perhaps you aren't familiar with what actually happened at Waco. Here is a link so you can come up to speed.
