Meet Medusa and Godzilla - alligator lovers!

Meet Godzilla. He is a large gator that is terrified of humans, so it has been very difficult to get a photo. When he is out sunbathing, he sees me from a distance and then splashes into the water. He may not look big in the photo, but his eye sockets are as big as chicken eggs. This is the best shot I could get so far and I was using my phone. Phone zoom sucks.

So, people say that for an alligator's safety, it should always fear humans. I understand, but although Buddy is not afraid of me, he doesn't trust me fully AND he has stranger anxiety. He is afraid of everyone but my family. I am very glad about this. When he wanders off, he won't be harmed by someone else (at least I hope not). It is illegal to harm alligators in Florida, but I don't trust humans, either.
