What would you consider a true harbinger of the end times?

Would it be concrete events in the world? Political movements? Societies collapsing? Or would it be more of a vibe shift, something that can only be felt? Does every generation going back into history believe that theirs would be the last?

I think we often think of the end of days in a fire and brimstone sense. But what could be more calamitous than a world in which small numbers of malicious people, for no good reason terrorize and manipulate large numbers of innocents, and impose upon them a sort of self imposed slavery? In a way, we've already reached that point. The end of the world itself, the burning out of the sun, is merely a cosmic phenomenon that will take place in due time.

That makes sense, and I was going to say it seems like the world is already headed in that direction before I kept reading your comment. The ongoing elimination of the middle class is an important first step toward that, it would seem.

Oh yeah, that's just one facet of it. Conditioning people to accept poverty as normal. Flooding the airwaves with propaganda. Convincing people to support evil wars. To support spying, and government sponsored terror.
