A Serious Note

All sorts of things have cords or strings or straps for carrying. Cameras, binoculars, whistles, canteens, compasses, etc.

If you are out and about in the great outdoors, camping or hiking or whatever...

** Never put any kind of cord or strap around your neck. **

Because it is a garrote waiting to happen. All it takes is a slip or a stumble for that cord to snag on a tree branch or something, and it can severely damage your esophagus or larynx or any of the other important things in your throat and neck. It can kill you.

Attach cords and straps to your jacket, or to some kind of utility vest, or an equipment harness.
