If you are heading for the Wilderness, you will definitely need one of these legal phones...Yes they are expensive but if you get lost with no "Cell Nets" around they are well worth the money..

You can rent these as well a friend of mine rents one when he goes out on elk hunts in the back country still not cheap I think he pays around $300 for rental and minutes

Gee, this "hatchet" is a stupid piece of crap.

Plenty of moving parts to warp and loosen and wear out, sketchy as f---.
Designed for improvised handles, so all sorts of things will end up being pressed into service.
Pieces of broom handle or hockey stick or any old tree branch. Accident waiting to happen.

Ten seconds with a search engine finds plenty of things vastly superior. Mini-hatchets, reputable manufacturers.
Or carpentry hatchets, or roofing hatchets, all sorts of sensible and safer alternatives.

It only takes a minute to find dozens of better things.

I'm not a fan of multi tools they tend to be more gimmicky then practical

Nice stuff in those links.

My favorite knife that I can't buy because they only ship to the US.

It's tough, feature rich and beautiful:

That looks like a great knife!

Later I will go through my bookmarks, and just
basically vomit a bunch of "outdoorsy" links.
