Below is an example of an ignorant, backward-thinking viewpoint.

This man (and I don't care who he is, nor do I mean any disrespect to his countrymen) is a fool.
He was just virtue-signalling, so all us mere peons will know what a terrific guy he truly is.

It makes me so happy to know Captain James T. Kirk finally made it to space, there is a sense of completion knowing this, and I am sure for him!

“You know the greatest danger facing us is ourselves, an irrational fear of the unknown. But there’s no such thing as the unknown — only things temporarily hidden, temporarily not understood.”

- Captain James T Kirk.

William's expressiveness during the first back on land interview is what got to me.

He's in tears telling us how fragile it all appeared to him.
How small our existence seems and what keeps our existence intact
when compared to the vastness of space, seeing it all for the first time.

"A thin, fifty mile blue layer and then it was all darkness!"
"How Fragile it all seems to that blackness."

Coming from one of our most iconic Sci-Fi actors at 90 years old.
Imho....He just became legendary, again.
