Another Inside the HDR Thread: Dissecting my HDR

Cool, a schematic.

This looks good and is almost identical to mine.

BTW you should add numbers #1 #2 #3 to the switches.
The difference aka confusion seems to be around the witness well.

I assume that BOTTOM INSIDE >> TOP INSIDE
and BOTTOM OUTSIDE >> TOP OUTSIDE

Your diagram shows

BOTTOM INSIDE >> TOP INSIDE >> SWITCH (3 I assume)

and I have

BOTTOM INSIDE >> TOP INSIDE >> pot-resistor-pot

Similarly you show

LAMP >> BOTTOM OUTSIDE >> TOP OUTSIDE >> pot-resistor-pot

and I have

LAMP >> BOTTOM OUTSIDE >> TOP OUTSIDE >> SWITCH (3 I assume)

So they are very similar but just reversed, as far as the top of the WW wires go.

Unless one of our diagrams is wrong. (y)

.
We should both double check this.
Thanks for the feedback.
I think the witness well confusion comes from needing a better way to describe "top vs bottom",
and needs to be more like "open end" and "closed end".
Also the good possibility that I got it backwards,
or Steve did! ;)

Also, which switch is #1? top or bottom. ;)

Hey, I'm working on a "parts list" to go with this schematic.
Anybody know where to get the plastic boxes and what are they called?
ABS, bakelite, size, etc.
Thanks

The HDR box Steven used is a phenolic instrument case made by Keystone Electronics. I believe the case part number is 701 and the top cover part number is 2038. Please verify measurements first just to make sure I am correct. The case and cover are currently available at Mouser Electronics.

And to save you a headache later, buy a few of these.
