I would just disable the tracking device for my time machine rental first. Then I would permanently escape to a timeline that doesn't have time travel. Probably play the lottery on that timeline and retire.

The way I see it is "THEY" are the tyrants in control of time travel technology. Who cares! Us normal folks will just get a black market time travel device.
