Does the positive side of tribalism/racism outshine the negative side?

I don't really wish anybody any harm.
There are a few ways in which I have tribalism tendencies but they're kind of superficial and silly.

No, love is a battlefield

I AM NOT GOING TO MASTERBATE COMPLETE STRANGERS!
Well not anymore.

About 3/4's of the world population is dirt poor and and dirt dumb! How can your personal philosophy help them? First, you have to get them to listen to you and then you have to explain how your credo is better for them then generations of their culture and family traditions! The third world isn't the third world by accident. They did it on purpose!

I agree that many are dumb.

All we can do is try to correct their notion that a genocidal prick and his homophobic and misogynous religions are somehow good.

The brighter will try to protect the more gullible from the lies that religions are prone to use.

I believe we're different. We're not all the same. But we all have a life force.

So long as people can discuss their feelings and get it all out------that's a good thing.
I was a bit unfair. I myself have had all these same thoughts as the OP, and addressed them.
I think what rattled me was the whole "violence is necessary" thing.
You could have peaceful tribalism or even total seperation between the groups of people without violence-----in theory.

In theory you could have separated people that still sort of co-existed and did trade with each other here and
there.
I guess it makes me feel a little weird and sad because
When I was a little kid I did not see race at all. It was only when I started looking into it and researching the different peoples that I realized
we're really not all the same exactly.

Better than 70% of us start our moral thinking with the Golden Rule.

We are basically all the same. We all follow the same basic instincts.

As far as my empathy and compassion goes it is 100% equal to everyone regardless of race.

That isn't denying some subconscious thing---that's the truth.

Really?

Not knowing your nationality or color, let me ask you, if you were only able to save one in some kind of emergency, and you had to choose between one in your own and some other color or nationality, which would you choose and why?

What of those who do harm to others with homophobia and misogyny?

If the adage that for evil to grow, all good people need do is nothing, is true, do you not wish to do harm to their harmful thinking?

I'm thinking more in terms of a hypothetical scenario where EVERYONE becomes kind and respectful to all.
Also you can't always solve evil with more evil.

We are all the same in one regard only----we're living breathing beings that deserve compassion for that sole reason.
We're both not the same and all the same
at the same time. It's a paradox. A paradox cannot exist without conflicting
things supporting each other.

By this logic-----perhaps tribalism isn't always the best answer.
