Note that most drones usually have some kind of SD card for the operating system and recorded data. Also make a copy of that if possible. The "better" drones may be encrypted, but copy it anyways. If disclosure really happens, maybe some of the encryption keys would be released.

Theories I've read online today:
The drones are a distraction.The drones are swarming the skies, so that the government and military can come to the rescue and take over full control of the sky, in regard to drones. No more private drones.The drones are looking for lost radioactive material. Or for a dirty bomb of some sort.The drones are a new anti missile system, supposed to defend the US from a new Russian missile technology.
Alright, keep in mind that depending who you believe, the government and army don't know what it is. Trump said he didn't know, but that the government knows...

At this point my main concern is what are they distracting us from? All eyes and news are on this which means they're doing something else they dont want people to report on.

IMO, If these drones were being seen as nefarious
I really believe that they would've been shot down by now.
Otherwise, inaction makes zero sense.
Now, if it was China Spy Balloons.......Very different story.Back during Prohibition, cargo ships would load up with alcohol and stay in international waters while smaller fast boats would make the run from ship to shore. Maybe the drug cartels figured out a modern day version of that. They already use small drones for small deliveries across the southern border.
