the fabric mentioned will do for most microwaves but the sun is spitting out alot more than just microwaves. its a full spectrum of light, and fabric won't do for that. aluminzed or not. but like you, I am no expert on this. it just sounds rong for any fabric to be enough, but now that I think bout it the rad. suites for the power plants don't look to much diff. from the shuttle era NASA suite so. most likely its is just me and my suspicious mind at work here.
