Hall of Records

The Hall of Records is supposedly a library containing the entire egyptian knowledge, buried under the giza plateau. There have been many theories about it's location, and some claim that it really exists.

There might be many Hidden chambers, and secret tunnels in that area.

Three parts story about the subject: http://www.touregypt.net/featurestories/secretchambers1.htm

Here is the Wikipedia link :

Hall of Records is reportedly a library buried under the Great Sphinx of Giza, which is in the Giza pyramid complex. It is rumoured to house the knowledge of the Egyptians by papyrus scrolls , much as the Great Library of Alexandria housed Grecian knowedg. There is debate as to whether the Hall actually exists or not, but all excavation in the area has so far yielded little or no results.
Some say there are 2 other Halls of Records, one of them in Yucatan. The other is in Bimini, perhaps besides the fountain of youth ? ;)

Re: Hall of Records

Isn't one of the presumed locations under the foot of the Sphinx? I can imagine all sorts of fun researchers had arguing with the Egyptian government trying to convince them to dig it up.

I totally forgot about this though; definitely going in the Paranormalis Wiki.

Yep, the principal problem they found was the gouvernment.

The most serious research has been made around and under the sphinx, and the pyramid of giza. They say they found some hidden tunnels beneath ground level, and what looked like some chambers. As ever, gouvernment didn't want them to dig. ;)

Thanks for bringing this up; a perfect first official entry in the Paranormal Wiki:

It's a pleasure !

Just found this site http://www.crystalinks.com/hallofrecords.html
Here are some nice schematics of the sphinx and everything aroud it http://www.crystalinks.com/sphinxfacts.html

The schematics are probably just theories, but they say the japanese have the equipment to detect some empty spaces between solid rocks. We must also consider that the ground level was probably lower than it is now.

I remember reading about an excavation like eight years back about the hidden compartment in the Sphinx's foot. If I remember correctly the Egyptian Gov. wouldn't let the Archies excavate it. Then a year later they sent a robot probe into the compartment they found. They found a stone slab-like door, and behind it was about 5 feet of empty space and then another door, the Egyptians wouldn't let them continue after that.. I've always wondered if it had to do with this Hall of Records.

Hmm... probably.

Well I think they don't want them to dig because it will reveal the real history of the Egyptians. How they didn't build the pyramids, and how they are not as smart as people think these days. Their afraid of the truth. That or they know already and they just don't want anyone else to know.

I honestly think it has a lot to do with tourism. That's their main source of income, right? The mystery of the pyramids and everything associated with them is what draws people there. If all the mysteries were revealed, there'd be much less of a reason to do any of that anymore.

But think, what if the mystery was revealed and it turns out aliens built the pyramids or something like that. Imagine what would happen I think it would bring an astounding amount of people there not only at first but constantly. Being able to see something you knew wasn't made by human, that their was/is other life out there and you can see what they did, holy shit I'd be on the next flight out and I've only had a passing interest in seeing the pyramids.
