Importance of fathers

Importance of fathers is something our society does minimize.

Data is in. Fathers are important to the psychic well being of their sons.

What we are told is that not having a mother or father makes no difference growing up.

I would like to see a study done seeing the effect of no religion versus believing in Jesus Christ.

TAKEN FROM 85% of Youths in Prison Grew Up in Fatherless Home
85% of all youths sitting in prisons grew up in a fatherless home (Source: Fulton Co. Georgia jail populations, Texas Dept. of Corrections 1992)

(Because only a portion of each age group grew up in a fatherless home,) these statistics translate to mean that children from fatherless homes are:

  • 5 times more likely to commit suicide
  • 32 times more likely to run away
  • 20 times more likely to have behavioral disorders
  • 14 times more likely to commit rape
  • 9 times more likely to drop out of high school
  • 10 times more likely to abuse chemical substances
  • 9 times more likely to end up in a state-operated institution
  • 20 times more likely to end up in prison.

There should also be a study on youths being raised by hateful, cruel stepfathers. The ones that treat the blood kin children with much more respect and love. And the sorry mothers that let him get away with the abuse so she can keep her man.

What about stepmothers? Yuck in my case as she turned out to be a gold digger. That is why I never called her mom or stepmother but referred to her as the step old lady. She had each of us kids excluded from my father's will and everything was left to her daughter. I have moved on, making my own way in life but it sort of bugs me thinking about my excluded brother and sister as if they hadn't existed. Funny what can trigger a memory...good or bad. lol
