Ouija boards 2008

Yeah, that's it. We can't know the spirit's intentions. I'm not sure how it could harm you and me while we're only asking questions, but there are some tales of people being possessed and such, so I'll let you imagine the rest.

That being said, don't ever ask for a physical proof. Don't do like this smart-ass kid who asked the spirit to prove his presence by flashing the lights. It seems that asking such a thing gives an opportunity to this spirit to leave its world and enter ours. Perhaps someone may become possessed, turn crazy, or maybe the spirit will stay in the building for a very long time.

A friend on mine had something happen, I think I posted a it earlier in this topic. Long story short, something went wrong back then. Now, when she enters this room where all of this took place, something doesn't feel right. Most people getting in aren't comfortable at all.

I like how analytical you are about this :)
That's probably why I don't feel like playing. Out of the blue, Ouija sounds like a cool experience that should go well if you stay nice with that baby. But when you think about it and look at everything, you'll likely end up having the same kind of conclusions I posted above.

It sure sounds cool. Is it worth it? Perhaps it's not dangerous at all, but look at all those people who share stories of bad Ouija experiences.

I'd really like to know if other members here, perhaps recent members, ever tried Ouija, and what came out of it.

I hate to sound like a "broken record" but the "boards" are not toys, regardless of your age, I.Q., religious beliefs, etc., one is simply asking for trouble. I know from experiences that one can apparently have a flat "board" but I've seen them take on a life of their own, literally, and well, one person with me described it as "all Hell breakin' loose". I guess it's a "buyer beware" thing.

I totally agree with you. Although I'm using the word "playing" up there, I take this stuff in a very serious way.

My family has always had a terrible history with these things, one of my dad's friends was possessed while they were messing with one at his house. He wont allow me to use one but I'm still extremely curious about them.

Computerbug, do you think Ouija boards really work as a way to get future information? Was your dad's friend using the board seriously, or did he ask for some physical proof or something? Perhaps he did something wrong.

I can't really say much on what I think of them since I have no experience with them. But I'm pretty sure the guy saw it as a game and wasn't taking it seriously.

From what I heard lately, that's how most people look at Ouija, they think it's just a game. Perhaps it is, but that's not what we tend to talk about here. It seems a lot of people who didn't take it seriously had bad experiences with it. I'm sure you'd try it and be fine, but if you happen to try it with someone who doesn't take it seriously, or perhaps, you just get in touch with some negative entity, you may get some trouble.

Yeah, I completely agree. I'll probably try one out later in life just because of my love for the paranormal but for now I think I'll leave them alone. It's so odd that such simple devices can be used for almost sure fire was to contact a spirit. There's nothing even special in them, they're just wood, which makes me wonder what other things could attract spirits....
