Nope. That is a new issue for me.
Tell me more.

How many zillion times do I need to explain, before people will begin to understand. In Jesus' time, I was a Roman soldier, who looked up to Jesus and have believed in Jesus in all my lifetimes since then. But that wasn't necessarily Jesus' body on the cross, likely a look alike brother or relative, taking his place, so Jesus could complete his mission with Mary Magdeleine and their several children.
Likely, his brother on the cross and himself were parts of the same Consciousness, as consciousnesses can sometimes split and merge, as elevated consciousnesses, in tune with "God" can do. Jesus would have been off at a distance observing and monitoring the crucifixion, though his spirit would have been one with his brother on the cross, experiencing the crucifixion, from two different perspectives.
Likely, the criminal crucified next to "Jesus", who asked for his blessing and got it, reincarnated as Padre Pio, a saint in the Catholic Church. It becomes clear why Padre Pio experienced the Stigmata, as he did. Though there have been saints within the Catholic Church, like Padre Pio and others, there have also been demonic or egoistic factors or entities, within the Catholic Church, deliberately misleading people.
Over 400 years ago, I was a Catholic, who wrote and taught about reincarnation and cosmology. I was imprisoned for that, by Catholic authorities, for eight years. Finally letting me loose, they intended and expected me to recant. Apparently, I told them what evil morons they were, who would soon be residing in their own personal Hells(the lower astral plane, which Dante wrote about and Hieronymus Bosch depicted in his paintings).
Consequently, Catholic authorities nailed my mouth shut and burned me at the stake. Perhaps some of them never understood that Hell would be a place of temporary incarceration, not a place of Eternal Damnation. But the demonic entities behind that lie, surely knew. From Hell, the lower astral plane, individuals may yet have more opportunities to reincarnate and hopefully become better people.
If people have been too evil for too many lifetimes, then they go to the "Lake of Fire" for their Final Judgement. The "Lake of Fire" is not Hell on Earth, instead it is a reference to the Great Central Sun in the center of the Milky Way. There, the guilty ones, who have been too evil for too many lifetimes are dissolved in the "Fires of God", as a blessing to all including themselves, as no part of "God" can remain evil indefinitely.
Their essence evolves from the lowest levels thereafter, perhaps becoming a specie of insect. There would be a combining effect thereafter, with that specie of insect eventually combining into a number of animals and ultimately into a single humanoid, with the opportunity once more to be good or evil. Who knows how many millions or billions of years it takes, for that evolutionary process to complete.
As for Jesus or anyone dying for our sins, sometimes the sacrifices we do make for others, helps people to reevaluate and move in a more positive direction. But we are still responsible for our own actions and reactions, from which we derive karma. Apparently, Jesus did tell us that no one loves more, than the one who sacrifices for others. I believe that to be most true. Jesus was all about Love, not punishment.
