Urban legends

There are many urban legends I've heard since I'm a kid, so you probably heard some too. Some legends are pretty local, depending the area you live in.

Here's one I found on GLP, it reminds me of another legend I knew some years ago.
Forwarded from a Sam's Club employee . . .
Wanted to share something that happened today while shopping at Sam's Club. A
mother was leaning over looking for meat and turned around to find her 4 yr. old
daughter was missing. I was standing there right beside her, and she was
calling her daughter with no luck.

I asked a man who worked at Sam's to announce it over the loud speaker for
Katie. He did, and let me say he immediately walked right past me when I asked
and went to a pole where there was a phone. He made an announcement for all the
doors and gates to be locked, a code something.

So they locked all the doors at once. This took all of 3 minutes after I asked
the guy to do this. They found the littl e girl 5 minutes later in a bathroom
stall. Her head was half shaved, and she was dressed in her underwear with a bag
of clothes, a razor, and wig sitting on the floor beside her to make her look
different.

Whoever this person was, took the little girl, brought her into the bathroom,
shaved half her head, and undressed her in a matter of less than 10 minutes.
This makes me shake to no end. Please keep a close eye on your kids when in big
places where it's easy for you to get separated.

It only took a few minutes to do all of that-another 5 minutes and she would
have been out the door. I am still in shock that some sick person could do this,
let alone in a matter of minutes. The days are over when our little ones could
run rampant all over the place and nothing would happen to them.

The little girl is fine. Thank God for fast workers who didn't take any chances.

BE SURE TO FORWARD THIS TO EVERYONE, SO THEY KNOW JU ST HOW SICK PEOPLE ARE OUT
THERE!!! (This happened at the Sam's
Wholesale Club in Omaha, Nebraska.)
I once heard the same story, exept that it was in a McDonalds. They took the little boy, changed his clothes, etc, and when the parents were back, their boy was now a ... little girl .
Now, that's a sick one, but that's the way the guy told me about it !!!
It also show you how quickly an urban legend can become distorted.

I'll post more urban legends I know later. Post yours too :)

Re: Urban Legends

Here's one of my favorite of all time.
Drinking Mountain Dew brand soda causes one's testicles to shrink
snopes.com: Mountain Dew Shrinks Testicles

Now, more seriously,

This is true:
3 years ago, I was drinking about 2-3 cans per day, at some point, one of my testicles started to hurt .
After a few weeks, I said "Damn, I don't want a doctor to touch my balls...Can it be caused by Mountain Dew ?" So, instead of going to the doctor, I stoped drinking mountain Dew, and my ball stoped to hurt after about 3 days  !!!!
I drink some MD sometimes, but not too much lol

Kidney ?
Man, my balls !! they were hurting !! It was painful to sit on a chair or in the car .

MD tastes pretty good !
I told someone about it this week "Hey, don't drink that, it will scrap your balls !"
He said he doesn't care, he already have enough kids lol

"Do the Dew !"

Re: Urban Legends

You know, Internet is like a big campfire, with lots of sh*t burning, making a lot of dirty smoke lol.

I haven't been to a campfire since a long time.
It's summer time, vacations coming. !

Re: Urban Legends

You know, some of my friends know that I read and visit paranormal sites sometimes.
They don't actually know I'm posting on this sites lol.
Some must think I'm a weirdo because of that.
The only place I'm posting is Paranormalis. I posted a few times on CC.net, waiting for this place to get back.

I think it keeps me ready to understand some things they can't. I mean, look at the site's banner: Paranormalis, "think outside the box". Here, we can think and discuss stuff we don't see everydays. Stuff people don't talk about, stuff people have no clue about.

Some people are so unaware of what's going on in the world, that's amazing. I'm not claiming I am well informed, I consider I'm pretty normal, in the average. But some people don't know everything outside of their buble. Urban legends are only one exemple of how misinformed we can be sometimes.

Fortunately, Harte is here to keep us on the right path !
