Why does our space program now consist of privately-funded, goofy jets flying over TellyTubby land?

Paul, this flight was privately funded, it's not a gov't thing.

Am I drunk, or are you? My question was why the program now has "privately-funded" craft.

Besides, Bush says it's his government-- no such thing as private funds.

I put this in here because it is a reason to love America, where a private citizen can build his own spaceship if he wants. Of corse it also helps if you are third richest person in America (Paul Allen).

Why do you love America?

everywhere people can built their own spaceship, there's no need to be in America!
There are other rich and free countries out there, don't you know it?
We can build spaceships, we can be born poor and become rich, we can built companies, we can make our dreams true, we can vote, we can do all the things you do but we don't think "It's because I'm in Italy, or France, or Germany!"
We think that it's because it's "normal".

::.. I can have as many children as I wish to

Yes...All you say about America is true...But as with all nations you are only as free as your Government allows. Keep on their ass.. or you may lose some of your precious freedoms, and once lost it will be hard to regain them. :unsure:
