I'm not sure whether to make fun of this guy or seriously address his posting. He's no physicist.

Infinity divided by infinity is covered in first year calculus.
L'Hôpital's rule - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Calculus is for high-schoolers, and by your tone of voice you took it in college, which discredits any arguments on mathematics from you. As a side note, if you're not that good at math, don't make misconceptions by expressing your ignorance.

Please read this webpage to enrich your lack of information; common misconceptions on infinity. (If you didn't know, 0/0 is a type of infinity, and of course, highschool math told you that it was inconclusive or some dumb term."

Common Errors in College Math

specific quote to look for: "In a similar fashion,
infty5.gif
do not have quick and easy answers; they too require more specialized and sophisticated analyses."
When I was in High School in the 70's, most high schools didn't even offer calculus.
However, infinity/infinity is inderterminate, except under circumstances already mentioned - L'Hopital's rule.

That is, in the set of real numbers, at least.

And also, black holes do not have infinite mass. From our perspective, they have infinite density.

Perhaps you shouldn't make misconceptions by expressing your ignorance.

AlexanderTT in his IRC chat logs talks in detail about his C404 time machine.
Gravity and time are both part of the 4th dimension.
A 5th dimension is discussed. (would like more info on that)
The processor is 350 ? 350,000 Terahertz ? Terabytes. It calculates the measurements of gravity displacement caused by the two singularities. It then corrects the machine based on those measurements. This system is called VGL, Variable Gravity Locking System.
The device is powered by a hydrogen cell, possibly fission. (would like more comments and info)
The device has a GPS system that determines where a jump is made.
Alexander explains that he jumps to an alternate worldline from anywhere in the world.
He means that on his worldline it is 2038 currently at the same time as this worldline is in 2004. That so far both histories of both worldlines match.
But he also admits that he can not jump at any time. He must wait for time conditions.
Alexander's C404 is preprogrammed.
The OS is something called MS-CLI which runs UNIX and Apple platforms, DOS mostly all command line text. But there is voice command in everything.

Am I missing any details?

Questions:
Why did Alexander have to check on the C404 in the middle of chatting? Was it on? Was it dangerous? Was someone trying to steal it?
Why the Civil Defense radiation detectors you can buy at an Army Surplus store?
Why was there a C202 in 2036 and a C404 in 2038?
Why is the 1967 Corvette called the C2 as in C204?
Why are the Corvettes from 1984 to 1996 called C4s?

Hi Ren. A hydrogen power source wouldn't use fission, since the nucleus is just 1 proton, hence nothing to divide. Perhaps fusion? It would be interesting to see how they overcame the Coulomb barrier in a small device.

GPS targeting would put a time traveler at an extreme disadvantage. The first group of GPS satellites were launched in 1978, after John Titor's 1975 trip. The system wasn't fully operational until the 90s, and it wasn't until 2000 that civilians had better than 100 meter resolution.

I meant to type fusion. The way I see current hydrogen cells work, it basically takes hydrogen gas combines it with oxygen to create energy and water. Am I right?

John said that his GPS system worked even though there were no satellites. There can be only reason for this, even if it is a fictional story. John's body must have also partly still been in his world.

What about collecting the GPS data from another dimension?

Navigating time and space would need an UNIVERSAL coordinates system, with precision down to a millimeter for spacial coordinates, and to a millisecond for time coordinates. You can't just travel thru time without displacing yourself thru the 3D universe. So all you need is to map the entire universe from the big bang up to the end of the universe. Easy stuff...

We can start with just our solar system. John didn't say he ventured beyond earth.

I've already thought of UPS (Universal Positioning System): Universal Positioning System
