World Wide Internet Disruption Caused By A Cyber Security Glitch

I received an email saying that the U.S. is blocking Kaspersky by the end of the month and to download Bitdefender. I asked my cousin who works at Homeland in cybersecurity and he said Bitdefender has shady practices and wanted to see the email. It could be fake. So, I am going to wait until the alleged deadline of Sept. 30 to see what happens.

I did some looking around and found this.

In an announcement, BIS specifically listed five risks Kaspersky poses to national security. Kaspersky's ties to Russia are a major concern. BIS states that Russia is a foreign adversary that poses ongoing threats to the United States. According to the agency, Kaspersky is under the jurisdiction and control of the Russian government, allowing it access to sensitive information from U.S. customers.

But I don't know who else to trust. Their product is fantastic.

OMG this is true. My son just came to me yesterday and said Ultra AV appeared. I'm going to have him delete it! My kaspersky is still here and I don't have Ultra AV. I'll have to check his firewall settings. He sometimes has to disable is antivirus to play games, and that's how it probably got in. Not good. I'm glad I read this thread this morning. Thank you for this, Wind.

** Yes, my Kaspersky is still installed

P.S. I'm starting to get really ticked about this. I consider any unauthorized installation a virus. I will REINSTALL Kaspersky if his is deleted. NOBODY tells me what software to use. I do NOT trust this Ultra AV and I'm going to tell my cousin, who probably already knows, but just in case!

I saw this news while @ work and thought I had better post this for the Kaspersky users here.

If I saw MY AV was suddenly replaced, I would probably not be in the most pleasant state of mind!

Bad thing is, they never told anyone they were doing this so,
"Hey..Let's cause mass panic across the US for Kaspersky users!"

The Bastids!

My question is: Who is responsible for installing this Ultra AV? Is it America doing it? This feels very wrong and intrusive. I don’t want it.
