What if we are just sheep or cattle on the galactic level? Every few thousand years once the population is "plump" enough, we are harvested by aliens? o_0
You made these aliens very happy after stuuffing yourself on Thanksgiving! Ho-Ho-Ho

well it appears they are now ready to give these robots complete control of choosing the targets and then terminating/attacking/eliminating. the persieved target.. or it would seem so, we now have a world wide human rights group trying to stop the goon squads from turning the terminators loose on the people of earth.. as with almost all tech. when the media says decade, it realy translate's to months. most likely the gov. is ready to roll out the first generation of drones at any time now. most likely for boarder patrol in remote sections of the country's unfenced borders.. not to worry though these new fangled terminators are smart enough to differentiate between a rancher looking for strays and a dope dealer/smuggler. who is looking for there contact/mule/coyote what ever they are called now.....

this is not good !!!!! I don't like it at all,,, it's not a smart thing to do ,,,, never give a mechine a brain and a gun!!!!!!! that makes for real bad juju....
Human rights group seeks ban on autonomous 'killer robots' — RT News

The New York-based Human Rights Watch has announced the creation of an international coalition, which it hopes can push for a global treaty for a pre-emptive ban on artificially intelligent weapons before they can be fielded in battle.
These “killer robots,”as the group calls them, are not yet being operated by any army in the world, though the pace at which drone technology and robotics are advancing has led to speculation that they could be developed within the next few decades

here is an article about how fast the bots are coming. funny how just for the propaganda conditioning of the public they throw in the latest drone. that is now in the testing faze of navy trials .this unit pictured below, is to be the next addition to the aircraft carrier's of the US navy. I posted news of it's existence some where around this place already. but it is fully self governing the first of the hunter-killer type robots. soon to be unleashed on the people of earth, just what the parameters are for distinguishing between friend or foe. have never been mentioned anywhere that I have seen.....but not to worry the robots are your friend's and helper's o_0 trust me if the government , or a global corp. are involved we are the target......:cautious:

Dawn of the bot? New era nears, experts say Science fiction is quickly taking a back seat to science fact. Just look at a new report by the country's leading roboticists. By 2030, it says, robots will be everywhere

If man can dream of it, man can and will build it!
It is cool that we live in such interesting times...

I wish we started work on the hyper loop or even a fast bullet train, but there you go. Military is sitting on discoveries of zero point energy. This is because we are run by oil companies. Still, we should at least get fast trains and and more energy efficient cars.

heres a nice new toy to keep in mind, and remember if they have gotten far enough in the field to make a ship mounted version. then,,,,,,, the smaller less powerful hand held unit's were first to be developed.. and tested in the labs to see if the thing would even work at all..... that time of prototype designing most likely took place about 10-15 yrs ago..

The U.S. Navy is tapping the power of the Force to wage war.
Its latest weapon is an electromagnetic railgun launcher. It uses a form of electromagnetic energy known as the Lorentz force to hurl a 23-pound projectile at speeds exceeding Mach 7. Engineers already have tested this futuristic weapon on land, and the Navy plans to begin sea trials aboard a Joint High Speed Vessel Millinocket in 2016

ha ha ha well here is the update on the rail gun testing......

Navy considers installing powerful railgun on destroyer within 2 years | Fox News

Development of a futuristic weapon depicted in video games and science fiction is going well enough that a Navy admiral wants to skip an at-sea prototype in favor of installing an operational unit aboard a destroyer planned to go into service in 2018

The railgun, along with laser weaponry, are two futuristic technologies that Fanta said have evolved from being a matter of scientific research to one of practical engineering.

things are just about to get very different on this mudball called earth my friends. very different indeed......

Personally i dont believe the rail gun will change much in the event of a war as both sides would possess some..Yes it is more powerful than its predecessors, but at the end of the day its still a gun...I think the benefits would be not having the need for standard explosives to fire a bullet and also the rail gun missile could be manufactured very cheaply and obviously much safer without the need for explosives :)
