A Rant about Elon Musk

It doesn’t take time to remove a shadow ban. Employees turned them on and off like a switch. They also removed followers at will.
And not everyone is shadow banned. It’s discriminatory.

This is why he's also threatening advertisers who leave with outing them. "naming and shaming"(as he said) Then that would cause 50% of the public to shun those companies tanking their revenues. He hasn't done it yet cuz he's again, trying to make a deal.

same reason he's keeping some major leftist psychos in the company. He's made deals with them(as he should temporarily for now until the heat cools off)

Can you provide evidence that he is negotiating with leftists? You're making an assumption. His tweets indicate otherwise.
He makes smug jokes about free speech and brags about Yoel's censorship. I cannot idealize him and assume he is out negotiating. I need evidence of that.

If he "made deals" with employees, they would have removed our shadow bans. There is also no evidence of that. That is an assumption.

This is the same scenario over and over. The sheep worship the "latest thing" and assume it's wonderful, when the contrary evidence is wide open in front of them. Celebs at first noticed the lack of free speech, but now most have caved because they don't want to lose followers and support, so they have chimed in on the "Elon is the next God" mentality.

I see no free speech on Twitter.
I will not pay if there is no free speech on Twitter.
Twitter doesn't meet my needs to pay. I'm not buying a car I can't drive.

Elon is a false prophet and I see right through him. He is trying to sell "free speech" as a product and is only after money, not the principle. The evidence is in his tweets. Read them.

I already explained a little of the programming... AND he's only had the company for a WEEK. You need to give him a little time. If he doesn't have things fixed by the end of the year, I'll join you in bashing him.

Back to programming again. You want this and millions others. The former 8000 employees (now half) watching 300,000,000 "claimed" users, it's not very practical to do these one at a time. That's where the algorithms come in. You could open a trouble ticket, but I doubt they'll do anything. Making a rough guess, there are at least 1000 users (maybe 2k depending on how people in the company are distributed) per 1 support agent. What you should expect to see is the shadow bans being removed by large groups in the next few weeks. If Musk is going to do his job like he claims, this will keep happening into December. The "removing followers" algorithm should also be deleted within the next few weeks. Expect the LWO slackies to holler that the world is ending.

If you do open a trouble ticket, tell them you want your deleted followers back just to piss them off. When they claim they didn't delete anyone, call them all kinds of colorful names and tell them to do their damn job because there will be more "firings" in the pipeline next month.

Edit: Maybe not the colorful names because then they'd really ban you... but you can still be politely creative.

And also: Musk also has a car and rocket company to manage, so his time isn't 100% on the twits.

I would be satisfied and have more faith if Elon made a tweet stating he will work on the shadow bans. He has said nothing of the sort.

One by one is difficult, but they need to start
somewhere. One happy person causes an avalanche of happiness on the site. It sounds silly, but word spreads fast. Make a few happy and they’ll support him and spread the word. It could help advertising in the long run.

Honestly, Elon may be good with money, but he does not have great marketing or interpersonal skills. He’s used to the money just coming to him. But now, he has to actually save a dying company. Little by little is better than zero, and a good Business owner would bring hope, not brag about dystopian censorship algorithms.

If Elon intends to end shadow bands, he needs to say it OUT LOUD.

He's a tech, and these aren't his strongest points. He's not the greatest with budgeting, but he's gotten by. He's the guy actually building something rather than a clueless CEO trying to herd cats. The people around Musk tend to have a hard time keeping him on leash.

He did get his initial fortune founding PayPal (not my favorite payment platform). Tesla has been on the edge of bankruptsy since its founding (it's still a little early for all electric cars, but he's ahead of his competitors and Tesla is worth more). SpaceX has been on the edge of bankruptsy until recently, but it's ahead of its competitors (I'm disappointed Musk didn't put his money into electrogravitics, rockets are so last millennium). I think he still has some solar company he brought out of near bankruptsy (bought off family or someone he knew?). I'm probably missing something else. Musk has a track record of keeping companies going.

I'm wondering what he'll do with twitter since it's such a limited model. It really hasn't gone anywhere in the past decade. The financial news usually rags on the stock. ...But just give him time. Like I said, if he's still failing by the end of the year, I'll yell at him, too.
